These two charts compare the overall trend of number of tests vs number/percent of positive tests vs overall Covid deaths. If you examine the charts, the Cliff Notes are:

    - Testing has greatly increased
    - This increased testing has uncovered relatively few positive cases
    - Overall deaths are declining

Those positive cases are likely asymptomatic or very mild. The old folks' homes and hospice facilities were already cleared out, the virus is running out of food.

FWIW we're seeing the same pattern in places like Sweden. "Cases" up but deaths down or flat. Same thing in South Korea, there's a "surge" in cases but deaths are basically zero.

So, where is the panic and the need to pull back on reopening?

Common sense tells a person, that if you are doing more testing, it's entirely possible to come up with more positive results for those with CV19, or who have had it. If the death rate is decreasing, it's kind of irrelevant the number of positive cases.

I think it's entirely possible that a vaccine could be necessary, but, by the time they come up with one, would the virus have mutated, or become resistant to a vaccine, therefore making it ineffective?

Anybody think beer flu ain’t about power, this shit just injected itself onto my phone through no action of my own and it’s the first time this shit has invaded my space.

Realize early voting for numerous runoffs in Bexar Co opens Monday.

Whoever’s behind this can gargle on Ricky Bobby’s sweaty ballsack until such time as I’m satisfied they’ve got the taste of power out of their filthy whore mouths.

I read somewhere that the total deaths due to the Chinese flu in Texas is less than 8 ten thousands of 1 percent of the states total population.

Just a guess but the percentage of folks shot during a typical weekend in Chicago is probably more.

That is assuming everyone is infected but the real data is super low too

So, where is the panic and the need to pull back on reopening?

I think it's driven largely by the Texas Medical Center saying they're at 100% ICU capacity and ~20 days from exceeding sustainable surge capacity.

I've read deaths are a lagging indicator. I'm curious to see how they trend in 2-3 weeks.
