I have always assumed it originated in california, new jersey or a prison.Sidebar, but speaking of cornhole, is cornhole a thing down here? I have seen zero cornhole paraphernalia.

His record since the last Senate election doesn't show that....raises a red flag, in fact.....
The only trust with most politicians - you can trust them to take care of their interests, not yoursUnless he's voting 100% Dem party line, then he's still preferable to a Dem. I'd rather have someone I don't trust over someone I can be certain work against my interests 100% of the time.

What a choice huh? Take the one I don't trust over the one I am sure will destroy me and mine if given the chance. Your right, but what a choice. It's always been the lesser of two evils but I think more so these days then before.Unless he's voting 100% Dem party line, then he's still preferable to a Dem. Usually the "lesser" choice isn't as bad as Cornyn, but he's still better than another Dem vote in the Senate. We just need to boot his ass out in the primaries, and that has been ridiculously difficult thanks to the GOP machine clinging to incumbents, no matter how weak they are or how angry their constituents are.
True, the system is busted. While I will make the argument for conservitism and the constitution at every turn and continue to vote as always, for the lesser of the two evils. (Republican) I think the system is well passed the point of being fixed at the ballet box. This republic no longer exists and I fear what's to come will not be pretty.Usually the "lesser" choice isn't as bad as Cornyn, but he's still better than another Dem vote in the Senate. I don't think anyone wants Boy Toy O'Rourke these days. Not even the demonrats. But I get your point.Cornyn needs to go in a primary. Otherwise you got to keep him unfortunately. Would you really rather have 'we are gonna take your AR15s" O'Rourke?
Which, yet again, makes the junior Dem less dangerous than the Senior Dem-In-Disguise.....and the only way to get the DID out of office.

Some folks are determined to cut off their nose to spite their face. I do no think your logic, sound as it is, will make a dent.Unless he's voting 100% Dem party line, then he's still preferable to a Dem. So, a consistent 100% dem vote on every single bill is somehow preferable to you over someone who doesn't always vote Republican? You make no sense on this issue. You would choose ardent, consistent opposition to your interests over unreliable support?
"He's not always on my side, so I'm just gonna go support the ones who hate me and want to lock me up"? WTF?
Name three bills in this term that Cornyn voted for.... and that were passed....that supported conservative issues?
.....I'll wait.....
Dapper Dan Crenshaw actually did better than Cornball.... geesh. Tony Gonzalez, my rep scored RINO.

Beside the point. A quick look (because I am not going to spend my evening researching for you) shows me two law enforcement bills this past year, one aimed at human trafficking and one aimed at cracking down on kiddie porn.
But I'll point out that I never said Cornhole was doing a good job. At all. Those are words you're trying to put in my mouth. I simply pointed out he's not voting in favor of every piece of Democrat dream legislation that would come down the pike like your girl Hegar would have.
You're ready to elect a Dem to the Senate, pushing us farther from having a majority. Someone who will vote 100% Democrat party line, and you somehow think that's preferable to having someone who won't reliably vote Republican, but who does not vote 100% Democrat either. See, it turns out Cornyn is better at voting against Dem bills than he is at voting for bills in line with our beliefs.
Let me state that again. He votes against most of the bills Hegar would have voted for. If she was in office, a whole slew of really stupid legislation would've gotten one more "yea" vote. Turns out Cornyn's voting record is about 66% conservative. That's not great, but it's a damn sight better than 0%.

Going by your logic, if presented with two paths in the forest, and being told that one is treacherous and may lead to injury or death, but the other one is certain death and nobody has ever come back from it, you'll happily trot down the certain death trail because the other one isn't maintained nicely enough for your tastes.
I'm still waiting for you to explain how you think this is a sensible attitude.
We primary RINOs to get them out of office. If they survive the primary, which Cornyn has an annoying knack for doing, then voting against them in the general election goes against our interests. It's frankly amazing you can't wrap your head around this.
You are never going to find the perfect candidate. There's nobody who fits every conservative's wish list, because we're free thinkers. The Dems, however, can have perfect candidates because the party talking points and platform tell Dem voters what to think, and they move in lockstep like loyal socialists do. Putting a Dem in office instead of a Republican risks that office always being a Democrat seat. Once one of theirs is in, they throw all their tricks at keeping them in. Voting against your best interests and saying "Yeah! That'll show 'em!" is not an effective strategy.
But go on. Explain how losing a seat to the DNC will somehow advance our values and keep us from being marginalized.
I'll wait.
Pretty much makes my point. DID Cornyn may vote for conservative bills, but he knows they won't pass. And the laws he votes for that do pass chip away at citizens' rights and wealth. He's no more conservative than Hegar would have been....he just does a better job hiding it and fooling Texas Republicans.
If the primaries are rigged so that Cornyn always wins, the only option left is to oust him in the general election. Yes, it means six years of an actual Democrat. But it also gives us six years to get an actual conservative that follows the Constitution in the GOP primary. And it sends Cornyn packing. Short-term loss for a long-term victory.
Unless you have a better idea....
