    It is California after all.

Well now that’s it’s all out in the open, the bad guys now know who to go rob, rape, etc.

All the people who aren’t on the list.

More likely they know which houses to watch and rob when the owners are away, because they have a good likelihood of scoring guns / ammo / other valuables there. Gangs could also target these individuals, even an armed person is going to have problems with multiple armed attackers.

And another take - those people who got a firearm and a carry permit because of stalkers, now those people's addresses are out for everyone to see and now their stalker, who may not have known where the person now resides, has their address. Same with abusive ex's.

Having a gun won't make you NOT the target of a criminal. Its easy to view a gun as a magical talisman that will keep bad people at bay - but as we saw in Houston yesterday - guns are often the target of crimes, and there are criminals out there willing to risk it by robbing a gun store.

There's a reason that sensitive information like this can legally be sealed from public records requests, this was activism to intimidate gun owners, to make them targets for harassment, assault, to potentially get their employers to fire them for owning icky guns, or investigate if they have the firearm on them or in their vehicle possibly against company policy, and for people to now utilize California's red flag laws to SWAT people and have their guns taken away.

You guys act as if gun registration could never be used against gun owners. The leftists have a distorted view that if they push toward civil war, conservatives won't fight back. To be honest, it certainly seems that way. But then cats will run away, that is until they are cornered.

These Californian shenanigans are a HUGE argument for national Constitutional Carry and the overthrow of ALL permitting and gun registration schemes. We live in the Data Breach age - where thru negligence or malice, your personal sensitive data is constantly at risk.

Government databases of gun owners or licensed carriers are ticking time bombs.

Those idiots just put a lot of their citizens in danger. Somebody needs to be held responsible.
The ones who think attacking a CHL holder might be a good idea?

The perp needs to die..., but that's for Californians to decide!

Its Cali - so IF a CHL holder defends themselves, it better be in a conservative county without an activist DA. The defender is more likely to face charges than the aggressor.

Gang crime has spiked massively there too - a CHL carrier facing an armed group of aggressors? Even kitted out like a Marine taking Fallujah, I wouldn't want to be in that situation.

And, we aren't in that situation... Too much letting Commiefornia live rent free in our heads! Fk California! Need more thinking how to save Texas, like #TEXIT!

This whole thread is about Cali and their subversive attack on gun owners / CHL holders. Its not Cali "living rent free in our heads"

And nothing I said was wrong - gang crime, especially in California is up probably 10X especially given the lack of enforcement action by activist DA's. Cali DOJ, and every agency down stream of them are mostly against citizens' rights to own firearms, and to carry those firearms.

Publishing the names, personally identifying information, addreesses, phone numbers, and other data about CHL holders is giving criminal types a target list, its not a list of "oh, we gotta avoid these peeps" - no its more "if we overwhelm them, we can take what we want and we'll get away with it" - and being California, the average DA's there would more likely charge a citizen defender with assault, attempted murder, or murder if they use deadly force to protect themselves, but they'd let the suspects go free.

And its naive to think that what happens in California won't spread. California style leftism is the most incidious form of political and societal cancer. Other activists in states that maintain such registries may be emboldened to do the same - and dare I say, even here in Texas, there are idiot lefties that may find themselves in a position to access such information. Nothing stopping them from obtaining and publishing it.

This is another one of those things I believe ticks us closer and closer to another civil war (or more aptly, another revolutionary war) - and I 100% agree - save Texas thru TEXIT.

These registration schemes - of guns, and of gun owners / carriers - should've been struck down in Bruen, but SCOTUS punted and allowed regulation, despite "shall not be infringed", and just converted "may issue" to "shall issue" - while California, New York, Illinois and New Jersey will find ways to roadblock that. They're already talking mandatory psych evals, Cali requires 3 letters of reference to your moral character by people who know you - anything and everything to slow down or deny your "right" to carry. SCOTUS should've eliminted permitting altogether and just said "shall not be infringed means shall not be infringed, we find any and all licensing schemes and laws prohibiting the carry of weapons by individuals to be infringements upon every man's natural rights and so we find any law, policy, or practice is in offense to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and is thus null and void."

That wouldn't have stopped *this* leak, in all likelihood it would still have happened. The left is pissed off because they're losing ground there, and they lost ground on abortion, and they're mad and throwing tantrums.
