<>Good points ... the best compromise is where no one is completely happy.
Same with Enders GameIf you hadn't read Dune and don't mind screwing up your movie experience, I recommend it to the scifi fans out there.
All I need to know about the art of compromise is having a wife.<>
Your comment touches on a long-held criticism of mine: By continual & repeated compromises with EVIL, our government, and public opinion, have been dragged far from our Ancestors’ ethic & Founding Principles.
I have watched our Republican Reps & Senators slowly destroy our Republic via repeated compromises with Chuck Schumer.
Law Schools teach negotiation seeking compromise as a Holy Grail. Some issues demand clear resolution to preserve integrity; but we haven’t seen that.
One Road to Hell is paved with repeated compromises with Evil, as exemplified by Louisiana’s Speaker Mike Johnson’s repeatedly buckling to Schumer’s threats to close down government. Public opinion now recognizes the error of repeatedly approving CR’s, instead of a National Budget. Johnson must grow balls and have that showdown in full public view.
The mechanism to remove errant Judges is impeachment; but it isn’t used. A “Tyranny in Black Robes” is the worst kind because it lends undeserved legitimacy to Evil, and it is so difficult to escape.
Term limits is the immediate bandaid we need. I have no resolution when our politicians are so corrupt & spineless.
I wonder if others see it this way ?
