Tip: Downtown Houston, Allen Parkway, West Gray, West U, etc. are very nice bike routes early on Sunday mornings.

My wife got a new "Townie" bike and loved it, so I got one, too. Being 78, all my rides are on neighborhood streets. The "pedal forward" design is a great improvement over regular bikes. Only negative is lack of a suspension. It may look sissy, but I just love it !

North wind ride this morning. Did not realize one road was closed so had to backtrack a few miles to a dirt road, that was in fact, a mud road for a couple of miles. Threw the bike in the hotel shower after the ride.

West wind 5mph. About 15 miles of this was crushed limestone bike trail. The rest Was paved bike trail and surface streets. Traffic lights really kill your overall speed.
