View attachment 163317 There was a TON of section 8 housing. You know 20 story tall red brick apartment buildings. They would be built in plots of 4 to 8 buildings and you could tell 5 thousand people lived in each one. I'll let you guess the demographics yourselves
NYC is a lot cleaner than I had expected and it did not smell like I had expected. It's an interesting place and I do not mind visiting. I got to see the 9/11 memorial, the NY federal reserve bank, and wall street. Those would be the main things I'm interested in checking out as a tourist. I only ate out twice.
I plan on going again for another weekend. I've got several friends that live up there behind enemy lines and as much as I hate liberal meccas I love them more.
EDIT here is a picture, I wish I had zoomed in more the white plaque in front of it is a dedication to some politician.
Next time you go try Carmine's Italian. Great food.
The one thing I will never forget about NYC is that they charge you for each refill. I let my kid have all the Dr Pepper he wanted since it was vacation, and our bill included $45 in DPs. Could not believe it.
