nope. i literally said "commie joe and the ho" and thats it when someone asked why the southern border is so out of control. once you get on their list thats it. what gets most posts deleted and people put in FB jail is when someone else hits the "i'm offended" button behind your back. FB loves for people to get offended. but only if they agree with your whine.

Just got a three day Facebook ban. In the never ending story about the search for the person of interest in the death of the "social influencer", I said "Would somebody please shoot the guy and be done with it!"

In the meantime, hundreds of other women are missing, no resources being spent on finding them - let alone finding their killers, and the folks who banned me do not care about any of that.

Quit Facebook about 5 years ago and quit that Neighborhood group. Even Ring neighborhood has jerk comments.

I've been banned 30 days at least 7 times. The latest for this. WTF??!!!

I would think the message would be very clear by the time you got the second ban.

Whether you agree or disagree with their rules, and TOS is irrelevant. Their house, their rules.

Please don't complain about being banned seven times. Find somewhere else to relay your message.

TGT has rules and TOS as well. People are shown the door here as well when they violate them.

What rules? The banning is often arbitrary and capricious. They'll ban memes I got from FB originally and often innocuous at least to normal people. That meme above is a prime example

Simple. Their house, their rules. Which means they can change or make those rules as arbitrary or capricious as they please.

Yup. I have found it extremely arbitrary... their rules are amorphous and you never know if something will get you banned or not if it is the slightest bit edgy.

Seems like anything with a conservative lean is banned/deleted, while lefties can rant and rave and promote rioting etc. Sheesh.

However, after a bit you learn that memes are most often risky, and mentioning anything in jest like "just shoot them all" (talking about wolves) will draw their ire. Therefore, self censoring is really a thing, and that is what they want. In the name of creating a "safe community" for their users, excluding conservatives of course.

    @Skeet

Don't worry, you're in good company. Many of us have posted in Rants and Raves about that very same thing.

I find it strange that my friend is saying you can't come to a thread about being banned from FB and add your story to the list. He's free not to come here and read about it and it obviously is not violating any TGT rules.

    Carry on!

I have been on Facebook for a number of years. Not once in all those years, have I ever been banned.

You're not trying hard enough. Many of us consider it a badge of honor to get banned on FB. I constantly mock their Fact Chuckers openly and say things like "Phuck Zuck" just to try to get under their skin... they deserve it. They used to leave us alone to our posts, now they have staff to shut us down. Screw em!!!

I would agree except for 2 big issues.

1: Facebook and social media is where the culture of this nation is being shaped. Ceding that ground to the left would lead to only one set of ideas being promoted to the majority of this nations youth.

2: The rules are not applied equally. Similar content targeting the right, conservatives, libertarians, etc is rarely censored. Content from the right is often censored. The problem with “their rules” is that they don’t follow them. The rules are applied on an ideological basis.

And a 3rd one that just came to mind: “Go somewhere else” doesn’t work. Every time a platform starts to gain a foothold it will have the rug pulled out from under it. Their will invariably be some story come out about it being a stronghold of white nationalism followed by a complete blacklisting by any web hosting, servers, etc. Sites can’t exist without the supporting infrastructure and that infrastructure is owned by the left. Amazon owns a huge portion of the server space in the US iirc. I’m not a computer whiz so probably getting some terminology wrong. But you can see it examples of this happening. After Jan 6 they claimed Gab (iirc) was used for planning the “insurrection”. Turns out most people going communicated on FB and the FBI investigated and found no sign of preplanning or coordination. But other sites were completely destroyed as soon as there was an excuse to do so.

Not to mention that Amazon went after Gab for pornographic material, which Gab began censoring but it wasn’t good enough. Meanwhile Twitter was on the same servers and also allows pornographic material. Not to mention the numerous threats made on Twitter against individuals on the right that go unchallenged and ignored.

Like it or not, social media is the front line of the culture war and can’t really be abandoned without forfeiting a major and possibly biggest megaphone available to spread ideas and often the truth.
