Facebook is disgusting. It is, in my opinion: anti-American, it is anti-normalcy, it is anti-decency, it is unethical in how it acquires user info and then uses that info, it is amazingly hypocritical, it is an unethical pollitical force, it is a liberal mecca yet somehow those who claim to be conservatives give every excuse for still using it and are in effect supporting what I believe is a tool of the enemies of the United States of America.

So what justification do folks who are supposedly conservative or libertarian give for still using it? They give those like two already seen above: Oh my golly my business community is there and will not follow me elsewhere. Why is that - because either your business is not good enough to follow (in the eyes of your customers who use FB) or simply because you refuse to stop using FB for your business. Start a new frigging business community elsewhere or just leave FB and tell your customers the only way to get to your business is through other means! Others say, oh my goodness, I use it to communicate with family. A poor excuse, mostly used by FB junkies, is what I think of that because there are other free social media sights that anyone and their family can join, for free, to communicate or you can text, email and telephone one another (or even all become members on a site lie this). Then again, how about this - write letters to one another, put them into envelopes, address the envelopes, put the proper postage on them and mail them (what a novel idea).

I have many friends who claim to be libertarian or conservative yet still use FB even after becoming fully aware of all the chicanery pulled off by FB. They say they detested the whole aura of FB but stayed there. I detested FB and I left it for good. I left it regardless of whether or not those friends followed me elsewhere. My attitude, if they want to stay in touch they will find other ways to do so with me, if not then **** em and let them morph into liberal flunkies. They honestly are not worth keeping in touch with if the only way they will do it on FB, a site I and many of them (or so they say) consider to be a socialist/commie/ultra leftist website.

That is merely my opinion of FB - yours may vary and so be it if it does. It is a fact though, if you use it, you are in effect supporting the left by using it.

Sorry to quote this long post; but i was forced to have an account because that would be the only way i could manage business account unless i assigned someone else to do it for me.

After weighing it in; i deleted the business page; followed by the personal account.

I have not lost any business. Communities there will link your information; emails will still come in so will the phone calls.

It is a bad business model to rely solely on fb. I am not against investing in online presence and i do it through other channels without exposing myself.

I certainly not having fb gave us more than having it. Now we don’t have to answer bunch of nonsense questions with no roi at the end.

Fb also forces you to pay them for visibility. You can have great content and engagement but unless you are paying for your spot you might not be visible to your followers.

So from a business perspective; to me; it made no sense having it. One leas headache i have to deal with, and business is still there. Another aspect from a business stand point; fb usually generated low quality customers. Customers who are more into drama, cheapest price seeking, not appreciating quality of work.

I would never design a business around fb or other social media channels. It still can be done differently.

As far as personal account goes; i indeed had lots of good friends and family on there. However; you either do it or don’t. I chose to not be on that platform.

    A lot more peaceful

It would be interesting to know really numbers of what percentage of FB is banned at any given time. I bet on a daily basis millions of bans are handed out.

My wife was involved in a lawsuit, lawyer's for the opposition had printed out pages of my wife's FB pages. They weren't her friend yet could see all of her post's. I quit that day and like someone said it's hard to officially quit.

Just about everything we say over the internet is out there somewhere.

I suspect going into the future, what we have to say on social media is going to become even more prominent is lawsuits and possibly even criminal trials as well.

They might not be able to use it as direct evidence in many instances, but I suspect it would go a long ways in either negotiating a lawsuit, or even as means to discredit, or show past behavior with a person.
