What we need is a bored (not board, as in certified, LOL) lawyer who wants to pursue a few class action lawsuits against these people. Then tackle the company that sells the machines for not properly informing the purchasers in the legal use of the product.
The data base should show the prosecutor how many times the crime has been committed, and probably take it to a much higher level. Each criminal who uses these systems illegally has probably violated the law thousands of times, and if they are forcing their employees to commit crimes of this nature, then that might be more charges.
With all the businesses using these things illegally, it should be a piece of cake to get a bunch of people under one lawsuit. Not to make a dime, but to stop the practice, prevent future transgressions, and cover the attorney's costs.
Do you guys remember that this is the Obama administration? Scan nothing. Go somewhere else. It may be state, but who says they aren't giving it to the feds.
