I was taught differently in my LTC class, in Texas. Was told that if a criminal is threatening or using deadly force, such as in my home, and runs away, I can shoot him running. Example given was say a perp breaks in and beats my wife unconscious. He runs, gun in hand, and is climbing over my fence to the neighbor's house. I can drop him. I realize this is different from the cop shooting but you did say regardless of circumstances. If you shoot a guy running away, regardless of any prior circumstances, and you are not a cop, you go to jail. We know that. Now cops too.
The DA claimed Rolfe kicked Brooks.

I did not see any video showing it.

The attorney for a former Atlanta police officer facing a charge of felony murder in the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks last week told "The Ingraham Angle" in an exclusive interview Wednesday that several claims made by the district attorney when he announced the charges were "not true."What if the officer had been hit by the taser a rendered incapacitated? His service weapon could have been taken from him and used against him or some other innocent citizen. There's no doubt from the video the perpetrator discharged the taser in the general vicinity of the officer.
Through his body armor?
Even a light jacket can render tasers useless.
Maybe "around". But if it can go "through", then they need to reexamine their armor standards.Through his body armor?

10-4......The officers attorney needs to rethink his wording for sure. Maybe along the lines of the cop being hit in the neck, face or arm with the taser.Through his body armor?

So I'm curious about laws for LE around use of a tazer. Several here are referring to it as a deadly weapon, I hadn't considered that.
So are LE officers trained that if your taser is taken and used against you, you can use deadly force? Now that I think about it, it makes sense, because any nut job that's willing to go that far will likely not hesitate to take your gun and end your day real fast.
If that's the case, it was a justified shooting. Wonder why the cop has so many charges against him?

I heard today that OSU coach Mike Gundy had to make a formal apology for wearing an OANN tv network shirt while fishing with his kids. Apparantly he was photographed, and OANN has made negative statements about BLM. Protests came from players! This is WAY out of hand.

Another benefit of speaking through an attorney... you can always claim the attorney misunderstood what you said or some technical point.10-4......The officers attorney needs to rethink his wording for sure. Maybe along the lines of the cop being hit in the neck, face or arm with the taser.

The mayor was out to crucify him. It looks like a good shoot to me. He had a weapon, was a fleeing felon, and assaulted the cops. Hell he got the best of two of them himself. Do people really think he would not have shot the cop if he got ahold of a gun. this is a lynching of police officers. When thugs fear the police we have law and order, but when the police fear thugs and liberal politicians we have chaos.
Yeah and men used to not go into the ladies room. Things are changing and not for the best.Sorry Phoenix, criminals and thugs don't fear the police.
