Yeah, and I have a bunch of rounds on stripper clips, ready to go..... so I don't really "need" another, but....
An sks is a fine rifle. If I had to use one for conflict it wouldn’t hurt my feelings. Sure I couldn’t lay down cover fire by myself as well as I could with an ar of ak, but it’s a great rifle for various purposes.

When I decided to get something that shot commie ammo, I first bought a couple Norinco SKS and then a Norinco AK thing later. Unfortunately, the AK was slant cut for a thumbhole stock and now wears a Choate stock, which is OK.

I really don't see 7.62x39 in an AR... It just wasn't designed for it.

Since the AK is just a stolen m1 Garand that was flipped upside down, the M1 Garand is the best choice.

Ill let you guess which caliber is best

My choice. I have taken it to the range it shoots well - an accurate copy - which means 3-4" groups at 100 yards with ammo it likes if I can see the sights (if the light is favorable) - my eyes ain't what they used to be....
And I just bought another case of ammo from a place called Top Gun Ammo - Privi Partisan brass cased boxer primed for $546 shipped. That's a lot of reloadable cases...

Please do not Bubba that Norinco SKS!!

The duck bill mags for the SKS are crap!
Oh, no.... I wouldn't do that..
The only mods I've done were for comfort... because I was tired of my thumb smacking my nose in recoil, I added about 2 1/2 inches of wood to the butt... used a piece of dried maple from a tree I had cut down in my yard. After fitting it, I put the metal butt plate off my Swedish mauser on it to "finish" it out. It's difficult to see the joint, unless you get the light reflecting on it...
I then spray painted it black, so it would be one of those evil black rifles.
I won't mess with the magazine...

I just like the caliber, probably better for serious SD work than the 5.56, and thought it would be good to have the option of detachable mags.

I absolutely don't "need" to add one to the collection.... but since when has "need" been first priority?
Plus, I have two AR's, so I should have two 7.62's....

Have a Bear Creek AR. Had an issue which they resolved by sending me a brand new one.

Have had zero mag issues with the Stoner mags.

    It’s surprisingly accurate.

Had a SKS fir a long time. Zero failures.

AK. 7.62x39 has a bigger head and that thins out the wall on your boat. They break faster, mags are a bitch, and if you want .30 cal out of an AR .300 black is the way better option.

    In the woods...
I dont care for the AK when it comes to hunting.
I bought a Mini-30 and a CZ bolt action carbine in 7.62x39 and love them both.

Wish I had not sold/traded my SKS.
