Anyone ever do this? What loads were you using? What was your approximate bullet drop off of a 100 or 150 yard zero? Need to see what corrections in elevation to make....

Done it with a .308 many times, never with a .300 win mag though. What are your bullet specs(weight, BC)? What is your velocity? What is your sight height? If you have these numbers, I can point you in the right direction to get you close.

you have to shoot the 1000 yds first to make adjustments Foo!

Actually no. You need to know basic trajectory and how much MOA of travel your scope has before you even get out there.

72.1 gr of Hodgedon 4831sc, 165 gr Hornady SST, CCI 250 LRM primer, 1.50 Scope height, ambient temp 80 F, Elev 500 ft, Approx 2900 FPS. I used POINTBLANK Ballistics software and got -377.00" drop at 1000 yards at 150 yard zero. I just want to have my ducks in a row before I overshoot and allow the liberal media to destroy a good range's reputation.

I got -372" so it sounds like you're close enough to pull the trigger.

When in doubt, walk it up. Just go on a dry day with a spotter and have them spot the round or impact signature.

Also, nothing says you have to shoot at 1000 on day one. Why not start at 500 and measure / compare your actual results to the calculations.

May 22nd 1000 yard open shoot. $30.00 gets you in. You start at 100 yards and keep going back in 100 yard increments until you reach 1000. This way you can write everything down from actual engagements (DOPE). The range is by WACO. Tiger Valley. You guys who have wanted to try it should show up, so we can take turns spotting. I've never done it before and could probably use the guidance too..

    Any limitations on rifle specs?

There is no 100 yd line, so make sure you show up already with a 100 yd zero. They are also missing a mid range marker, but I cannot remember the distance.

    These are fun shoots though!
