Iron Butterfly Organist, Singer and Frontman Doug Ingle Dies at 78

Ingle was the last surviving member of the classic 1967–1969 lineup.

In his honor, please dedicate the next 17 minutes of your life to a song DJs I knew used to go to the bathroom!

an interesting bit of trivia.... apparently, Ingle was really wasted when recording the song....

"The drummer apparently misheard the slurred phrase “in the Garden of Eden” and wrote “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” in its place. The song was intended to be called “In the Garden of Eden,” but even though it was misinterpreted, “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” seemed meant to be."

I once had a friend who was looking to open a vegetarian restaurant in Houston, and he was struggling to find a name for it.

I recommended In a Garden to Feed Ya.

A few years ago, Bart Simpson addressed this matter in a Simpsons episode.
