Holy crap that is cool, I want...actually I bet I can build an equivalent for less. I wonder how easy it is to source a emf transmitter (and receiver) with range of a mile.

Don't know much about EMF, but check out the equipment being used for FPV flying. Should be simpler given that directional antennas could be used.

But I think the system being sold has some built in stuff for tracking each shot.

That it does....I'll be honest though with enough time I could probably replicate that part of the programming :D Not that I'm particularly interested in doing so (personally hate programming but I can do it). Regardless it's more of a fluff feature that just makes life easier. Could still get immense use out of a plain old camera without the fancy software.

Haven't been on the site for a while and certainly didn't go back and read all the comments so I'll just ask. What is the status of the range? When ready, I'll be there a LOT (I hope!)

Has the location been disclosed? That would help planning.

    Thanks and Godspeed

    Survey completed.
    100 yd increments staked.
A little more planning and proving and the real work starts.

What do you have for targets right now?

    Open for suggestions.
Ive got 2 more big ass plates like we shot at Hicksville.
Younggun donated a couple of nice 10" plates.
I haven't built any berms yet. Still studying the possible layouts.

Kinda like a driving range. The 500 & 600 locations are currently hiden by the apex of the rise in terrain at about 400. I need the elevation data from the survey to determine required height for those 2. And determine offset from centerline for 300 & 400..

    blah blah

Lee, I saw a guy at the gunshow today selling a bracket that allows you to use T posts to make a stand similar to above....should have snapped a photo because I'm sure you could come up with your own design for it!

    Probably chains.
    Could do a down rod.
    I'll entertain ideas.
I have more trampoline frame parts like we used at Hicksville. In fact my kids went ahead and volunteered our current trampoline too by destroying the mat on it a few weeks ago.

Just don't get too fancy with anything. It is all gonna end up as scrap no matter how nice it starts out.
