Hundreds of thousands of people will leave the urban areas in search of food in less than a week........large roving gangs will be on the move and they are armed. Your neighbors will not be prepared and could be potential adversaries.......total lawlessness.....

I’m pretty much a ‘’shelter in-place’’ guy.
But, most of our homes are wood-framed & very flammable.
The “bugging-out’’ folks are not considering that, with our large cities, there would be millions trying
to do the very same thing, many of necessity.
Speak with your neighbors well in advance. Neighborhoods can benefit from organization and mutual aid/defense.
Ammo in common cartridges would be currency. And, jugs of water.
I recall Dad’s tales of the precipitous civilian evacuations from Berlin in Spring 1945. the Allies had anticipated
and had large convoys of food, medical support, water, & processing units on the way; but they were 2 or 3 days late.
I try to keep a couple months’ food, water, antibiotics, & ammo on hand; but it is tough to do all that may be needed.
And, my own Family members are likely to look to me.
My Texan Pioneer Ancestors tales of ‘’shooting ports’’ built into home walls and of sod roofs for fire resistance come to mind.
