After my first divorce, I had to move into a poor neighborhood, as that was what I could afford... The folks there called repo guys " the snatch-back man"... I thought that was funny, but they didn't...

    "Where is your car?"

    "Snatch back man took it..."
I worked delivering furniture during high school. The "public housing" in this town of 23k was on a dead-end street so one way in and the same way out. The store owner sent me and another high school kid to repo a swamp cooler. We didn't know any better. So we were the only two white people in that area and of course it drew a crowd of people to watch. Luckily, we weren't jumped and probably because they knew we were just kids.

I worked for a small town furniture store owned by a neighbor while in high school. A family bought a big house and furnished it from top to bottom from that store. They had 2 kids, one in a private high school and the other in junior high. Both of the kids were obnoxious, as were the parents. The younger one had a pet snake - a boa constrictor I think - and when he found out the guy I delivered furniture with was afraid of snakes, he made a point of putting that snake in doorways, stairs, etc. just to get a laugh. The older one was standing in my way as we were carrying a heavy dresser. I asked him to move and he said, "F*** you, delivery boys go around me." It's hard to forget people like that. About a year later, the boss called us in and told us that the folks had defaulted on the furniture and he had a sheriff's order to pick up everything we could. Turned out that the father lost his job and rather than admit it, he spent every day in a bar drinking away his sorrows. Every creditor foreclosed at once. The wife and kids moved out and the father checked into a mental hospital, leaving their German Shepherd dog behind. The dog slept on couches, crapped everywhere, peed everywhere, chewed the legs on the furniture, and nearly chewed his way out of the front door. I think the sheriff's office actually took the dog out of there and he was in pretty bad shape after weeks of neglect. There was a lot of damage to the furniture, but I think the owner got most of his money out of it. The oldest son came in while we were carrying stuff out and tried to start a fight, but a deputy put him in his place quickly.

It was a customer that I hated delivering to and hated collecting from. I did feel a great deal of sympathy for the dog.

I threw newspapers for the Dallas Times Herald many decades ago. Going through an apartment complex in the winter, I saw two flatbed tow trucks and several police cars around 4:30am. They were loading up two nice vehicles. Some guy only wearing underwear comes out of the door of his third-story apartment waving a check and yelling "wait, I've got a check!". Yes...they didn't take his rubber check.

I've seen many weird things between 3am-6am in the morning. Drunks passed out in yards, a smoking vehicle that crashed into a light pole with the driver unaware due to being so drunk, a purse left on top a car, etc.

I see a surprinsingly amount of people using polaroid cameras to take unclothed pictures of themselves. Lot's of adult novelties and what I call wishfull thinking prophylactics, because if they knew how to properly use them, they would never be left stored in a car especially during the summer

First of all, that's what smartphones are for.

Second of all, where the hell are they getting Polaroid film cartridges? I've got a Polaroid One Step that's in mint condition exactly as James Garner and Mariette Hartley made it that's just sitting on a shelf.
