Won't have to worry about passing the inspection. It won't even make it to the inspection station...Buy a Ford?

I mean, sure. Just have to tow off the smouldering mess after it catches fire in the driveway.Buy a Ford?
Don't ever say that. There used to be a bar in Phoenix, and most big cities I suspect called Mr fat fingers. You can guess what type of bar it was. 7st and camelback. There was/is a Dennys at 7st and camelback. You go there at 1 Am and you would think you were in a real life version of the worst replay of rocky horror pictures show meets drag queen dating hour.
So don't say fat finger. Ewe. Sends shivers down my spine. I was a security guard at the church at 18 and went in there at 1230 one morning for lunch. Dennys not the ghey bar. Anyways I looked up at 105 and the doors opened and they piled in.
Check please. I got out of there as fast as my puckered exit only door would let me waddle.. like good ol tone loc said homey don't play with no Oscar Meyer weiner. Ain't no plans with a man.

All kidding aside (the Ford vs Chevy vs Mopar is all for LAUGHS!)...Im having trouble getting my 2015 Silverado 5.3 inspected. I haven’t done anything to the truck but over the course of a year (since my last inspection) my monitors are showing not ready.

This happened last year, but i was able to get them going by following this drive-cycle procedure:
But now, I’ve put two drive cycles on it and still no luck. Any insight into what i can do?
Can HP Tuners override these “not ready” indicators so i can get this truck to pass the OBDII test?
Any insight you can share is most appreciated…
Have had a couple Chevy's....(yep, even admitting it hurts)....Edit:
It’s 4 years old years old
I’m going to check the voltage and also a ground wire on the head, evidently all of these monitors might share the same ground

Going out there Sunday. I'll holler if I see ya.We have a family AirBnb on Canyon Lake for the next 4 days ...
I got tired of automotive B.S. in the late '90's. I coulda went for Religious Studies, too.I had a college scholarship to a degree program in automotive sponsored by any number of manufacturers. I turned it down cause the auto electric computer future of automotive repair. That just wasn't for me.
Good luck. Repairing cars is nothing like it was in the 80s.
I went for religious studies instead. That didn't work out too well either. Go figure. Maybe it's time to go back to school. Give 2 or 3 years and I'll figure it out for ya.
Lots of enthusiasm!Insert puke emoji here.
Many many many times.
cool!Going out there Sunday. I'll holler if I see ya.
You don't actually need it inspected in the county you register it in, although that is a common assumption. The inspection station goes off the address on your insurance paperwork. They put that address in their computer and it tells them what to test. If the address is in a non-emissions county it skips the monitor check.i need to physically have the truck inspected there
seriously? i’m gonna head over and check it out now thank you!!!You don't actually need it inspected in the county you register it in, although that is a common assumption. My experience is that most inspection places don't even know, so you might have to ask them to just humor you and put your address in their machine to see if it works.seriously? i’m gonna head over and check it out now thank you!!!
So i went by two shops, one being the first that failed me earlier. My experience is that most inspection places don't even know, so you might have to ask them to just humor you and put your address in their machine to see if it works.
Best thing to do is never goto the inspection only places and find an actual mechanic with functional brain cells that just happens to also do inspections.
They always plug into the OBD port. It's the tests that the computer runs that matter. The monkey working the computer doesn't even matter, provided they type your address in right. I do this every year, man

Both said the same thing:
An emission county can do an inspection, but they’re gonna plug into the OBD port regardless, because that’s how their systems are setup. The computer can’t get to the next step without plugging in first.
Since Bexar isn’t an emission county, can y’all confirm that they don’t plug into the OBD port? Because this damn truck is gonna fail if they do…
yeah the texas dmv site only indicates OBD test for emission counties…I can speak for Guadalupe - they don't. Per my oldest boy, Bexar County doesn't, either.
