When I was young, I desperately wanted to understand how a woman's mind works. I never did succeed at that.

Now that I'm older, I realize that it would probably scare the hell out of me if I did understand how a woman's mind works. I suspect that you could get close to the experience by taking LSD and rattlesnake venom while riding a roller coaster.

I have learned that no matter what else you get them for a birthday/anniversary/Christmas/etc., ALWAYS get some sparkly bauble. (e.g., earrings, necklace, ring) Doesn't necessarily have to be expensive, but it does have to be sparkly. It also helps if she has a friend or sister or something that will help you with translation.

I dated a girl that did this shit also ... it's really, really annoying. I shouldn't have to be Sigmund Freud to understand what it is you want.

Try checking your browser history. Also try seeing if she has any pages favorited.

If neither of those yield any results, then you'll have to go a bit more generic: Take her out to dinner and give her a few shiny baubles like was mentioned earlier.
Other things that the "furniture" thing might be hinting at: She wants to go shopping for stuff together! Doesn't necessarily have to be "furniture", just stuff for your house, that you both can enjoy. It kinda signifies to women that you are planning for them in your future.

Other good things to spring on her (and get you in good with her "decision maker") is to send her and her mom to an all day spa, where they get pampered and coddled, etc.
Things like that usually make up for any lack of hint taking on your part.

    OK amateurs...time for some schooling.

You got to break a few dishes if you want to get kicked out of the kitchen....I guess she hasn't given up on you yet, you need to work harder.

    1. Buy her something nice but you know is definitely not what she wants. It has to be a little $$ sacrifice now, but cheaper in the long run.
    2. Tell her how great she looks in it, how cool it is, mention it was expensive
    3. Act dumb and comment "I knew you would love it, you've been hinting about it for months", lots of fake smiles and pride here
    4. Ask her to wear it regularly, use it regularly, display it prominently, etc.

....she will never drop hints again...and if she does you can mention that you "tried so hard last time but failed". Ask her to "help you" - women feel the need to "help".

Edit: I know this from "Ex's" - maybe there's a lesson in that. My wife never pulled this kinda BS, she's a super cool lady.

Get her a membership to Jenny Craig, 24 Hour Fitness AND Weight Watchers. Tell her it's a little hint. Ask her if she likes little hints. Done.

I would never be in a marriage where I have to play all those idiotic games. Been married 19 years this July.

Fixed it for ya. Sometimes crazy ones are a lot of fun to date...until they get all crazy on you

Congrats on the 19 years! We're a little over 10. I would never have married someone that silly and high maintenance.

Frankly, if she wants to play these stupid games, dump her by the curb and find somebody that lives in the real world. For heaven's sake - don't marry her.

Another funny one, but good luck with that!

I never actually got to the point of doing anything quite like what I suggested, but my wife learned early on that I have never and will never be good at picking up on subtle hints and getting pissed off at me for not picking up on it is fruitless and will only end in frustration for all. Now, instead, we are just open and honest and say "Buy me this (oh, and here is the link to it)". Works out a LOT better (well, except for our bank account).

Today is my girlfriend and my anniversary. she apparently, has left me 19 hints on to what she wants. and me being a man, didn't pick up on any of them. she of course won't tell me what she wants, because she's been so "blatenly obvious". who else has committed this sin and who hasn't. :banghead:

If you ever find a woman who can talk directly with you, keep her.

This may be a first, but I have to agree with Zembonez on that one. I certainly learned that the hard (and expensive) way.
