    I don’t need a scope. I guess I was blessed with long-range eyeballs.

Leupold scrubbed the words "America" and "American" from their official core values over the summer and added the phrase "Celebrating our diverse workforce." They coincidentally laid off about a third of their Beaverton, Oregon workforce while making record profits selling to the US government to send to Ukraine.

An old friend of mine brought it up at their last all-employee meeting only to get chewed out by his boss's boss later that day. He was laid off a month later. Fortunately, he got hired on a Benchmade shortly after for $10 more an hour.

It sounds like CEO Bruce Pettet is making moves to gut the Beaverton staff while pretending that foreign outsourcing is a virtue in the name of diversity. When I worked near there in the early 2000s, Leupold already had a reputation for below-average wages. Pretty disappointing nevertheless.
So, back to Karl Zeiss for me !

Choosing to spend money with folks that are aligned with your values is not.

    Big difference
    DOH!

Ignore what I said. I somehow merged 2 different threads in my brain and was partially responding to both out of context.

Gotta be pretty stupid to screw things up that bad in one short post.

    :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Don't know why I was responding to the communist whining about AREO in this thread.

I am thinking y’all are going down a road based on innuendo and not facts:

Performance. It’s always been about performance.

We’ve built our reputation as the world’s dominant optics manufacturer by focusing on performance. You can’t guarantee performance like we do if you don’t build the product yourself. Manufacturing is the backbone of America, and our teammates take pride in being a part of that. We are a family of hard-working Americans who are competitive, driven, and proud. But above all else, we are committed to upholding the legacy of quality and craftsmanship that is expected of true American Manufacturing. We believe in outperforming everyone, even ourselves, and we are relentless in our pursuit.

Thank you for your trust, and thank you for your support.”

OMG, if it says so on their website, then it MUST be true! Are you serious, or did I miss the sarcasm font?

Diversity is NEVER better. Accept only the best, and that's what you get, the BEST. Everyone else will then strive to meet the higher standard.
Diversity for diversity sake is a woke and senseless concept . But you do need some diversity of thought to help brainstorm and overcome dogma and innovate.

But like I tell the folks who might listen to me, any good organization values unity over diversity, because you need it to move forward and accomplish a mission.

Never? When I was 17 I dated about 40 different girls that year. I can tell you with certainty, diversity was an amazing adventure that year. And with hindsight, I wouldn’t change a thing.

The “best” is an opinion. Yours as stated above is Vortex is the best, period. My side by side examinations of a bunch of scopes showed no Vortex was worth having until you got into the $1000 range. And I still don’t own one.

The best is likely Nightforce, Zeiss or a couple others. The Zeiss I have is amazing. But it’s definitely not Vortex.

Good at a price point is a reasonable standard. My $150 Nikon scope glass is loads better than the Vortex at the price point. The entry level Zeiss is 3+ times more expensive than both, and better than both.

I wish my budget allowed me to buy a Swarovski, Zeiss, or Nightforce with regularity. For now I’m stuck with diversity.

Diversity depends on how it's used. True, nothing wrong with diversity in the colloquial sense, but what it's meant in todays terms is racist at it's core.

Affirmative Action is nothing new, it relies on quotas in a workforce rather than who is most qualified, and that is todays 'Diversity' in a nutshell. Only difference between today and yesteryear is you need more of who is considered most oppressed by people pushing the agenda of DEI, and you're not allowed to have an opinion to the contrary.

Le up old hasn’t even made the list of optics to look at fir the past 15 years. They have been riding a name. Easy fir me to not buy anything from them moving forward as I haven’t wanted anything from them anyways.

Agreed. I sure don't want diversity of quality, I want good quality, nothing less.

When i was younger, i thought nothing of getting a lemon. "Oh they have a good warranty, they'll fix it"

Now I'm older, I've come to prefer having stuff that won't go tits up when i might need it. Less wasted ammo, range fees, and time.

The rifles I've put ACOG's on have spent much less time out of action, VS the rifles that have been taken out of action because vortex has a bombproof way to make sure people find out how great their warranty is.

As for Leupold, hoplopfeil? said it best, there's fudd Leupold that makes the same scope they've made since the 80's, and drunk Leupold that makes weird stuff (most of it crap) that'll only be made for a year or two then discontinue it.
