Just a quick note on the comments on being old and prices. Some older folks you see at those shows sell to make ends meet and try to get as much as they can. True those that are there every week hawking the same crap not so much but others might be selling some cherished items just to eat. Not sure how many of those there are but i am sure there are some there.

What is the strangest thing you've ever seen at a Gun-Show ?

For me there were the FAKE Rolex watch traders, pocket knives much too gigantic to fit in a pocket, non-functional ammo, and the guy at New Orleans Lakefront who shot himself in the thigh while re-holstering, a PPK, yet.

But, some 15 years ago at a big Gun-Show at Harlingen, a young man came up to me to ask a question. He was tiny, couldn't have been an inch over 5', and was decked-out in RAMBO combat gear. Neatly ironed camo fatigues, little military boots, boonie hat. Was carrying an AR slung over his shoulder, a Beretta in a dropped holster, one of those Jimmy LIles type Rambo daggers, and an absurd number of loaded magazines. If that wasn't strange enough, he was dragging along a very beautiful young girl, looked about 17, less than 5', also in full combat clothing, camo short-shorts. She didn't have body armor like he did, or a discernable weapon. But she was drop-dead beautiful. The entire deal looked like something from a movie.

    I wish, I WISH I had snapped a pic.

    What have you seen ?

The weirdest thing I see at gun shows is all the people wearing camo, even children and babies. It is also the last place you are likely to see a mullet hair style.

I haven't been out in a while. When I finally do venture out, it might be a big culture shock. I better bring an inhaler. :D
No joke! My friend's 19 year old son has a gnarly mullet. He plays college baseball and apparently the 'fashion' is pretty big in the baseball community right now.

Okay, I get that I'm a little (a lot) late to this thread (as usual), but the weirdest thing I've ever seen at a gun show, and one that I observe at virtually every one, is the number "unlicensed" gun sales. You know, where people everywhere are simply exchanging money for guns (goods), where neither the money nor the guns (goods) are licensed! Oh, the horror.

Of course, the other thing that really bothers me about this kind of free enterprise exchange is its preponderance to vastly increase the rate of Wild West Pimp Style interactions.
