Yes you will have to weed through the responses to find a legitimate buyer. I use it often, but it can be frustrating. About the first 5 responses you will get is asking if it still available. You reply yes and then never here back from the person who asked. Lots of lowballers also. Everyone thinks they should get something for half the price you list it for. Just have to have your BS meter working at full charge. I won't even respond to half the messages. People won't read your ad and ask questions already covered in your ad. All they see is pictures and a price.

Or sell on here, and greatly increase your odds of the firearm going to a legitimate buyer!
Sometimes the buyers just aren't here.
Placing where there is more traffic seems to be better though you have to deal with more unlikely buyers.
I've sold things in just hours on other sites but I'm no longer willing to ship out of state.

    Here
I have bought, sold and traded several times on Texas Gun Trader. I have never had a problem with any of the buyers, sellers or traders.

The 2 things that I don't like about the site is the scammers and the idiots. The idiots are those people that post messages warning others about the scammers, telling about their bad experiences and griping about the prices some sellers ask for their things. Some people, idiots, just don't understand the difference between a classifieds site and a forum.

It seems like the owner of the site doesn't care about the scammers and the idiots, he does nothing to stop them.

ETA, there is no fee for selling.

There is a small fee now. Not sure how much but it's like $10 or something. I have bought more than I have sold there.

I too am just as frustrated with the IDIOTS that post scammer warnings as much as the scammer posts.

So the average person cannot tell that an original Python NOS/NIB listed for $1000 with no location by someone that joined that day and whose IP address comes back as New Jersey is a scam?

I had a gun for sale on this forum for a week. I posted it on TX Gun Trader on Tuesday afternoon and had full price cash in hand at 1100 the next day.

Yes, I got a couple crazy barter offers, but easy enough to decline.

It cost me $0 and a few minutes of my time.

I’m thinking about selling another gun and if I do, I’ll post it here for a few days and if no bites, then put it on The Trader site. I generally sell for a fair price so they go fast on that site…typically in a day or two.
