some of the old folks are ok, but you know the type.
Yes, I do.........and I try not to be one of them.........

I hope you pointed him in the direction of the next gun show!Had a gentleman come in yesterday with four 100 round packs of Winchester .20 ga. 2 3/4 7.5 shot...wanted $400.00 or 1.00/rd....
I said no thanks....
He claimed he knows what they are going for on the internet......
i hate those dudesI went to the “gun” show in Pasadena this morning. They should call it the Cheap fvcking Knife Show.
Tables upon tables of knives. Mostly chi-com or Paki garbage but a few, very few, actual collectible knives. Of course the geriatric gnome behind the table had those marked up 200% over modern retail.
I like Randall knives. I kinda keep up on their prices. When i see one on a table marked $900 when i could stand right there and buy the same knife for half that via smart phone I feel like punching that green teeth in the nose.
It’s “rare” or “vintage”. No it ain’t. Its the same knife Randall has made for 50 years.
**** those guys.
thats fine, but im more talking about the guys who mark up an auto 5 that has been sitting in the trunk of a car since 1978 and is caked in god knows what.Hey, ya whippersnapper, I'm a geriatric dude and in the past year, I've 'given away a number of guns' that've been barely shot i.e., damn near new...
To wit: A shot gun I shot twice for a grand total of 5 rounds and 2 different 9mm semi-autos that probably had a total of 200 rounds shot through them. Along with a lot of ammo for the recipients to practice with.
Plus, Both of these semi-auto pistols were top shelf that is S&W and Ruger.
To be fair, my aim doing this wasn't altogether altruistic.
How's that?: Ultimately, I didn't like any of the guns I gave away, but knew they would gladden the heart of the recipients.
I didn't like the shotgun because of the controls. I didn't like one of the semi's because one had a standard type safety and the other had a grip safety. Controls again...
Didn't I know these details before I bought them?
Yes, of course, but I thought I could live with these particulars and it turned out I could...but didn't want to.
Would I take them to a gun show for sale?
No, I'm in a place where loved ones can use my cast offs without me demanding they cough up some moola.
Lucky me and them.
Being the curious type, I just checked ammoseek.com. Seems he was darned close to correct but was actually selling it for less than offered online if you check ammoseek.com. The cheapest of the only three places shown on ammoseek.com, that had Winchester 20 gauge, 2 3/4" shells available (note this is high brass stuff), was MidwayUSA at .84 cents per round PLUS shipping AND tax. The total for 25 rounds, with shipping (to my place), would have been $36.31 per box of 25 shells or about $1.45 per shell. It would have worked out somewhat cheaper for the limit (they would only allow you to purchase three 25 round boxes = 75 rounds) due to shipping not costing anywhere nearly as much per box, as it would have for one box, when ordering more than one. Still, it would have amounted to approximately $1.10 per round if buying 75 rounds from MidwayUSA. Of course, you can get it much less expensively at Academy and even for less money at Walmart when they have it in stock but the truth is - he did seem to know what it is selling for more or less at some places online, at least if he checked ammoseek.com.Had a gentleman come in yesterday with four 100 round packs of Winchester .20 ga. 2 3/4 7.5 shot...wanted $400.00 or 1.00/rd....

Neckbeard's even have a higher mark-up on ammo.I bought a case of 20 ga. 2 3/4 field loads low brass for 5.13 bx last week from a distributor.........crazy mark ups are at the retail end...........
Gee,I guess you've been to too many gun-shows ?What's weird about any of that?
