I dont mess with snakes and I dont MacGyver or phuck around with explosives. I consider both equally dangerous.

I rather enjoy tossing things with spoons on them that go bang in some shape or fashion. But bombs, nope. I like my limbs. Same with snakes. They are all venomous until proven otherwise.

The great thing about Texas & poisonous snakes. We only have 4 kinds.... Rattlers, Copperheads, Corals & Cotton mouths. All 4 are fairly easy to identify.... IF you see em, before its too late.

One of the neighbors was in their yard last year messing with her garden & got bit on the leg by a copperhead. She got to the ER in time & only has a little scar from the bite.

I always wear snake boots but now that I have seen an actual copperhead right near my house I am bringing the shotgun with me when I am out and about

    To All,

You may want to know that while being bitten by "a little brown COPPERHEAD" is FAR from FUN (I was bitten twice in the long ago days when I ran a Boy Scout camp.), NO healthy ADULT has EVER DIED in AR/LA/NM/OK/TX from a COPPERHEAD bite, though numerous people over the last century were hospitalized, for up to a week.
(CHILDREN, BABIES & "adults, who are in poor health", OTOH, are DEFINITELY AT RISK of "serious bodily harm" or death from COPPERHEAD bites.)

Also, "dry bites" constitute about HALF of all Copperhead bites.

    yours, satx

With all the standing water from all the rain we have had over the last few months, I have a bumper crop of frogs! Lots and lots of frogs. Usually, where you have lots of frogs, you generally have snakes, but I have actually only seen four this year so far. One small copperhead, one cottonmouth and two rat snakes.

Hit a snake with the mower last year, was mostly still good though so I went to skin it and see if it looked tasty, I found 3 frogs inside. One of them lived to hop another day. Lucky frog.
