This one was "unsurvivable". So everyone is now dead in SW LA. Maybe it's a good thing we ordered all those refrigerated trucks?

Note: I am not making light of this for those dealing with a natural disaster; I just get tired of everything being a breathless delivery of panic. Prayers for the safety of all involved.

The media now lives and dies on fake news with thr unfortunate fact fact you cant believe anything they say even if your life depends on it.

I am thankful this did not turn out worse, but the way the media blew it up was shameful.

Now, back to the virus killing us all with no more mention of the “unsurvivable” storm

This article outlines the media’s approach to creating alarm and fear about hurricanes and global warming by making wild claims and ignoring history.

This is why I told my new neighbor to stop watching the MSM coverage of Laura and just check the National Weather Service and NOAA sites every 2 hours or so in order to track the path. Watching CNN or The Weather Channel will only fill your head with fear and political bias.

    In the woods...
For some reason I'm having trouble posting here. We lost power about 3 a.m. last night and got it turned on about an hour ago. Lots of rain, some Gusty winds, but no real damage.

Just found out. Friend in Lake Charles house did not flood. But their wood fence is gone, have a leak in the roof, back patio is about to collapse and there is now a tree in his pool. He didn't have a tree in his back yard before the storm

    Now over 100,000.
This is due to reduced system capacity caused by multiple downed Entergy transmission lines on Tex-La border from Hurricane Laura.
Entergy is not part of the ERCOT region, and therefore does not tie with Centerpoint Energy or other utilities located in the ERCOT region.
We are working on tying Entergy to our grid, but this will take some time. Should be done tomorrow morning.
I have been told the goal is to get everyone west of Dayton back online.

Our son is stationed at Ft Polk. The post (and town) got hit pretty hard with wind damage, with one fatality downtown. Power is out across the region and isn’t expected to be restored until early next week. Cell service is spotty at best.

The post implemented a restricted movement policy...essentially remain sheltered in place...thru 9a tomorrow as they continue to clear downed power lines. Next update at noon tomorrow.
