Last spring all the gun makers had AR related stuff on sale at crazy prices. I bought an AR kit to assemble for $100. I also bought a 224 Valkyrie assembled upper for around $150. This past winter I was digging around looking for a hunting jacket and found the Valkyrie upper.
I was curious about it, but made up my mind from the start that I was not going to reload for it. I remembered I had a Black Friday deal scope, so I mounted it, bought ammo and shot it. I was surprised at the low recoil. I was also surprised at the accuracy.
The more I thought about it the more I thought I should shoot it long range. So I bought a better scope. Last weekend I bought a Covenant 7 Cabelas scope. Great clear glass, and fairly high magnification. Only cost around $350.
I’m now thinking this may be my antelope gun. I got a scope that should accommodate 300-400 yd shots. Now to get it mounted and do some ammo testing.
Went to go check that out and saw something else I may buy. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.500 rds of 7.62X51 surplus orange tip tracer from SG AMMO...
