The .22 pistols? Usually small red dot sights.

That's the only part I actually knew...was more curious about brand and such! Thinkin i'm gonna ask for one of these as a graduation present in december!

There's a similar model photocell operated but I needed to control on/off for nighttime varmint control.

Every enthusiast should have at least one .22 handgun IMO. Make yours a Buck Mark and you'll be happy too. ;)

Leaning more towards the ruger....but I plan to try and shoot both before deciding.....sooo when ya gonna let me shoot yours? :what:

It depends on budget. I don't have a small sight like that so I have no recommendations, especially for anything cheap that works. I would like to know too.

Finalists in the dueling tree competition, 2 Buck Marks. Got there by stomping all over tricked out Rugers.

I have a cheap Truglo on mine. You don't need to pay for a small dot. 5MOA is fine for a pistol.

Of course open sights are good too.

This is why I want to shoot both...I've never shot a buckmark so I need to do that!

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT DO IT!!!

I tried someone's Buckmark and had one in my inventory the next day. I just have the fixed sights and it is still a breeze to shoot and is very accurate.

I really liked the 22/45 with the threaded barrel as well, but the Buckmark just felt more natural in my hand and shot better for me.

I was back at Hicksville today, and picked up the pistol that I accidently left there. They could not of been nicer or kinder. I was also happy that they required more than a "hey thats mine" to pick it up. They wanted a serial number to verify that it was mine. I brought the original box that it came in with me, and that was satisfactory since it had the s/n on it.

It took a while to get out of there, because the crew there is pretty chatty... :)

I bought them all lunch for securing and holding my firearm for me. I happy to see that there are still good people on this earth.

What I heard from the range:
When I was at Hicksville today they said that there were rounds landing in the shooting area that did not originate at the range. WOW.

    My speculation:
If one of us were to be struck by a round, I am pretty certain that the local law enforcement would confiscate every firearm on the property for testing to see if it came out of one of them. Could you imagine what a fiasco that would be? It may take a year or more to test that many firearms and return them to their owners.

I may limit what I bring, just in case there is an accident....

The people that run the range said that someone was there the other day firing a full auto firearm. The local game warden stopped in to review his paperwork on it. The owner of firearm did not have the paperwork with him and lost his firearm to the game warden.

Someone may want to chime in on the legality of that. I did not know that game wardens can enforce the NFA. But I am sure they could detain them for someone that could.

Last Hicksville update. They have enough new dirt to build 20 foot berms around the shooting areas. That should be good for everyone. There were new piles of dirt everywhere.

They also said that they were going to remove the tactical lane due to the odd firing angles causing problems.

The work will be completed in about two months, because that is how long it will take the bulldozer guy to finish up his other work and make it over there.

I think they can enforce Texas laws, and a FA gun is illegal in Texas. Good news is the owner will probably get it back as soon as he produces his federal tax stamp. The defense to prosecution of the Texas laws is that your have your ducks in a row at the federal level to have it.
