    ...and 'goat' is not to be left out of the 'eating arena' either.

    In my opinion, goat tastes (cabrito...baby goat) like a richer flavored beef.

    Do you have to be an 'adventurous eater' to enjoy lamb or goat...nope, neither is over the top or exotic in texture or taste...just something different than beef, pig, poultry or fish...it's ALL good!

    Growing up it was always turkey on thanksgiving
    ham on Christmas
    and lamb on Easter

    It seems lame has fallen out of favor in the main stream.

    Do you know the rules you can’t eat the pretty animals only the ugly ones…

    What do you put in your hummus? That looks good.
    My wife hates hummus. I'm a fan, but don't have it very often.
    Tahini aka sesame seed paste
    2 cans Chick Peas/Garbanzos
    Oven Roasted garlic to taste
    2 Tblspn. Lemon Juice
    Cumin Powder
    Kosher Salt
    Extra Virgin olive oil

    I used 4 cloves of garlic because of the size. That goes in the blender first filled by half the jar of Tahinni with the liquid from 1 can of peas salt pepper & cumin. Blend on liquify until you think the garlic is well blended. Then add the peas & liquify. If you're going to eat it all real fast avacados makes it real good, but it starts turning brown fast. Other things like chili powder, cayenne pepper for spicy. Fine minced Kamalata olive on top or Chinese red pepper & garlic can go on top as condiments. I always give it a top coat of evoo.

    I’ve had lamb that I loved, and lamb that was awful. I suppose it’s all in how it’s cooked. But I seem to like grilled the best.

    I do like hummus. Prefer the roasted red pepper version the best. But the roasted pine nut hummus is good too.

    Not that I could find the spices around here without ordering them, but I would mind knowing how she spices her lamb. Not really wanting it in a sauce rather to marinate in for the grill.

    I could also talk to the salesman & his supervisor that I know for years @ Ben E Kieth foods & open an account for spices in bulk. If I wanted to save some money.

    ”Maceo’s is a wonderful little place, a bit out-of-the-way. The moment you are though the door, it hits your nose & brain.

    Almost everything is available on-line, but not the magic scents of all those spices.

    Everyone interested in ethnic foods should try to visit at least once.

    My late Dad was President of a small-town bank. Every year at our local 4H Ag show & Sale, he’d buy the “Grand Champion Lamb” at auction, to support the Kids in Ag. Of course, I got to cook a bunch of it, and got terribly “spoiled”, as that was the only lamb we knew.

    Our neighborhood had several Families of middle-Eastern Christians who could cook very well, so I had plenty advice.
