    158 grain, 357 projectile in a .45 acp case!

Well, the worms in my brain took control...
Was searching for some .223 to .308 sabots, and stumbled across some for 38 to 45. Just couldn't resist.
There were a few .357 rounds hiding my stash, and figured what the hell, and pulled a projectile from one, and bought a bag of the sabots.
It all pressed together nice & tight.

Question is, what powder, and charge weight?
This is for my AR45, so the weapon has plenty of strength.
Haven't bought bullets yet. Thinking hollow points may blow apart on impact, so probably will go with soft points, or hard cast stuff, as I have about 40 lbs. of Linotype metal (or so the seller claimed).

I'm guessing that would also work for .45 colt?
What vendor, if you don't mind...

    Don't see why not...
    Here: 38-45 Sabots

I still haven't carried my chronograph to the range to see what normal .45 acp is doing out a 16", locked breach barrel.
Publish tests show between 1200 to 1400 FPS.
Not sure how accurate these numbers are, and all ready seen where the guy may have transcribed the numbers incorrectly.

Wish I could find data on the old .357 Brian&Davis (Bain&Davis?) round (necked down 45 acp) that was popular with gun writers back in the early '80s.
The 357 Sig data shows a starting point for a 147 gr bullet of 5.8 grs of Unique.
But may need a slower powder for the long barrel.
