I really think it depends on the area the land is in. I have a great relationship with all of my neighbors and shoot on a regular basis. A doctor friend of mine down the road built a full pistol range on his place that temporarily served as the police range while repairs were made to theirs and you would hear shooting at all hours of the night and day without ever hearing many complaints. I do agree that in some situations its going to be an issue though and those are some of the other issues that will need to be investigated before an actual purchase would be made.

Sonic crack from the bullets is still very loud.
I was in the 300yd pit at Juliff, hanging a target while a kid was practicing for an upcoming high power match with his AR. I had to put ear plugs in.

Yes, it's much quieter, but would still be noisy.

Its more than just the sonic boom, too. Suppressed rifles are still really loud, but they can make the difference between annoying just the neighbor that's right next to you or all the neighbors in a 3 mi radius.
