    She won the popular vote...

Ignoring the fact that presidencies are won by electoral votes (and the current process is a good thing) she won the popular vote by 233,404 (0.1811538073469261%) of the 128,843,000 votes cast...

Consider 55.6 % of the registered voters turned out. Estimated 288,157,000 people in this country are US Citizens didn't vote.

So 0.05597218225419664% more of the US population voted for Clinton and that justifies anger and frustration for folks pointing this "Popular Vote" or democratic way of thinking?

Considering factors such as fraudulent votes and miss counts nationwide among other outlying anomalies how relevant are those extra 233,404 votes?

Those who are thinking along the lines of a "popular vote" should have won this was a tie and Trump won the coin toss.

The Democrats had a meeting today and Donna Brazile got an earful.

“You are part of the problem,” he continued, blaming Brazile for clearing the path for Trump’s victory by siding with Clinton early on. “You and your friends will die of old age and I’m going to die from climate change. You and your friends let this happen, which is going to cut 40 years off my life expectancy.”

    Shady,

So you know that "wee willie klintoon" likes wearing ladies undies??
(He got caught by a trooper of the Security Division of the AR State Police trying on a pair of lace underpants, when he was Governor. - This incident was "hushed up" & the trooper soon retired & moved to ID, with a nice pile of $$$$$.)

In a peculiar and unexpected way I'm seeing hints that Trump will bring this country together.
    .............................

Had Trump lost, his supporters (e.g. we here) would have felt cheated and would have been viciously angry. It would have been the beginning of a four year rage.

The answer to "What went wrong?" would have stirred terrible malcontent with the allegations of "rigged".

    But.....

Now that Trump so clearly won, the Dems are not angry. They are puzzled and befuddled.
They are forced to be introspective and will realize, in a mirror, that the problem lies in themselves.
    .............................

Strange as it will seem to many, Trump will bring us together as a nation.
Unexpected but I think it'll happen.

It also helps that deep inside he has liberal social values that should stay out of politics to begin with.
He feigned the persona of a bit of an intellectual dullard on the campaign trail though a simpleton, a dullard does not become a self-made billionaire!

The political hacks are asking "what went wrong". The liberal snowflakes are still calling themselves victims.

The Dems know exactly what went wrong. They turned off a "uge" chunk of voters by rigging their own primaries. They hung all their cards on a crooked DC insider and ran on issues created by a screaming snowflake generation who they had turned off for issues stated above. Issues that put off a majority of the nation because they are incredibly stupid issues to worry about when you are walking to the grocery store past a factory where you used to be employed before it was shut down.

And while you are struggling and wanting the economy to recover and jobs to return, all you see on TV is crying over which bathroom Bruce Jenner can use.

The dems know why they lost, they just don't want to admit it.

And they want somebody more left to head the DNC. They still don't get it.

This reminds me of the UK socialists in the 1980s. They Lost to Maggie's conservative revolution in 79 and could not believe it. Just like we are seeing with Trump they had claimed that she represented all the worst aspects of human nature. So they then blamed their defeat on NOT BEING SOCIALIST ENOUGH they chose a new leader who was a former communist party member. Formed a manifesto that included withdrawing from NATO, scrapping all the UK's nukes, ejecting all US forces from UK, closing all nuclear plants and declaring the UK a "nuclear free zone". Then guess what in the 1983 election they were almost wiped out. Slowly and painfully during the 80's and into the 90's, they gave up some of their long cherished ideas, during which time they lost two more general elections, however these changes eventually allowed them to win with Tony Blair 97.

So it sort of makes sense the Dems will lurch further left (thinking that if it had been a Sanders - Trump fight they might have won) they will go left and then hopefully (especially if Trump Economics starts to pay off) they will get clobbered in 4 years time, maybe giving the Republicans an overwhelming and unstoppable margin in both houses. Once that happens a bit of Real Politik may kick in and they may return to being a Dem party that JFK might recognise. Of course if they are slow learners like their UK equivalents, then they may have to wait until 2028.

    Davetex,

What the "bed-wetters" of the Radical Left are is: MAD, NASTY, BRAINLESS, MEAN-SPIRITED, UNTHINKING, PREJUDICED, "CLOSE-MINDED" and in all too many cases, LAWLESS & VIOLENT.
(If I was "in charge" of LE in Portland, Chicago, NYC, Boston & other places, a crowd of the "violent protestors" would be LOCKED UP.)

    You can't be serious.

    Sure I'm serious.
And I meant it as a positive outcome of the election.

    To reiterate:
Had Trump lost we'd feel furiously cheated.
Trump won. The Dems are frustrated with themselves. A lot of the are friends.

    Unexpected good outcome, eh?

    ...................
    BTW

If the mods choose to lock the political threads please just eliminate this board "politics" category as altogether unneeded please. And the "news" one too.

Though it'd be a shame to censor and stifle a lot of bright, thoughtful, motivate and like-minded gun owners.

    ....................
Is there not something in the 1stA about .."the right of the people to peacefully assemble"??
This board is precisely that, I'd observe.
