Congrats! I can vouch for the lack of sleep. Our son will be 10 months in 4 days. We still have not had a complete nights sleep... I was up at 12:00am getting a bottle ready. I never went back to sleep. You get used to it. It's great watching them get through all the milestones.

My advice, get a quick read thermometer. Those 60 second ones are to hard to use on a squirming baby! Also, go to walmart. Get the Dr.Mom otoscope to check his ears. If he starts pulling on one a lot, he may have an ear infection. It costs us $25 co-pay just to have them tell us it isn't sometimes. But now we have one and check. It will save us the first time we use it and he doesn't have an ear infecton. The walmart one is $18. Has pictures so you know what to look for as well.

Have fun with the little boy. Dadadadada is the best thing you can ever hear from your son. Well that and laughter!

I can. Sorry Neck but ...

Spend ALL the time you possibly can with your children. Sacrifice other seemingly important things to do this. You get but ONE shot, make it count! They absorb everything, even when you think they are not paying any attention. Hell, even when they say they hate you, they are listening and learning. Again, make it count. Children are this country's future.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Glickster, but he's right. I took a nap, woke up, and my baby is 16 and wanting a car and an IPhone. It just goes too fast. Enjoy every moment, and make time for teaching them the right path, and make memories for them every chance you get.
