I have in the past supported the GOP however from this point on what little I can do or give will go to a conservative candidate or conservative fund. The GOP hierarchy has spent far too long in DC sipping expensive booze with the liberals there is little difference between the two. Obama care and the socialist agenda has to be stopped and RINO's will not do that.

Been on Fox News here several times today. Every time he posts something on facebook, I comment "Still not forgiving you for the cloture vote. See you on election day."[/QUOTE]

... and telling everyone that will listen ....

Time for the OLD Rhinos to disappear.

Even if I grant you whatever point you're making about "knuckling under and accepting" McCain and "Obomney", how do you justify throwing the Supreme Court to the Democrats for eight, maybe 16, years?

So we should blindly follow any idiot that puts an R after their name. A certain percentage is going to vote D and a certain percentage is going to vote For no matter what. Deviating from your principles and beliefs loses votes, not gains them.

Besides, review the candidates and tell me the VOP didn't pick about the worst candidate they could have the last two times. Remember, a lot of folks view voting as choosing the lessor of two evils. If they are equally incompetent, the
    Incumbent wins.

If McCain had won, we wouldn't have ultra leftists Kagan and Sontomayor in our faces for the next quarter century. Now, maybe McCain doesn't give us an Alito or Scalia, but whoever McCain nominates would be light years better than Kagan/Sontomayor. Ruth Ginsberg is not going to survive until 2016 - wouldn't you rather have Romney choose her successor than Obama?

I honestly don't know the answer to this. Look at McCain 's voting record for the last decade or so. Compare Romneycare to Obamacare. Tell me on paper if you looked at their history of action, and if you didn't know their party affiliation, are you sure you wouldn't put a D behind their names?

McCain had a interview on radio this am.

If I hadn't known better, I'd have thought they interviewed a democrat from NE.

Not sure how accurate this table is but your statement got me curious so I did a quick Google search. There's no arguing that Obamacare was modeled off of Romneycare but here are a few differences that really stuck out to me. My whole thing with it is, it should be left up to the states to adopt such a law or not. Each respective state has variables such as debt level, uninsured citizens, and other exchanges, etc. As it stands right now the federal government has it's boot on our necks and are force feeding us this law whether we want it or not (one size fits all). In some way, form, or fashion each one of us will end up paying for this regardless if we're enrolled in it or not.

    Romneycare
    -No new taxes!
-Romney balanced the state’s budget first, then passed healthcare law
    -No cuts to Medicare benefits
-Modest cost to state (only added 1% to state budget)

    Obamacare
    -Increased taxes by $500 billion
-Despite massive federal gov. debt, Obama still passed Obamacare
    -Cuts Medicare by $500 billion
    -Overall costs unknown!

Didn't mean to hijack the Cornyn thread but just wanted to throw this out there, Carry on....

And Cornyn fits in with that entire Romney/McCain mold. But when courage is required to take a stand and do the right thing, he's AWOL. Reminds me of some notorious NFL quarterbacks. They put up great stats, but when the game is on the line, they don't deliver.
