Neither. I’m pointing out that there is a mindset problem.
Try making that suggestion (and it IS being suggested, much as the “arm the teachers” one is) and it’s being mocked and laughed at and ridiculed.Look at our Republican leaders here in TX. The cave in is happening. They aren’t on our side. They aren’t even making any pro-2A offers at all. Even the earlier suggestion in this thread about advocating gun safety curriculum in the classroom would be better than what we are getting.

The problem with NOT asking is this. If you say nothing's wrong, then you are viewed as having 0 empathy. The truth is that culturally we didn't have that many mass-shootings 15 years ago, and they were far bigger "outliers." Whatever is wrong right now is NOT going to get fixed overnight, and they need to both offer some "effort" to stop the immediate issue (We know that this won't actually solve the problem since criminals will have their own sources and means of finding weapons even if all of us law-abiding folks were to choose to turn them in) and also a long-term strategy. I don't see ANY pro-2A long term strategy of worth being offered by anyone that is has a public voice.Try making that suggestion (and it IS being suggested, much as the “arm the teachers” one is) and it’s being mocked and laughed at and ridiculed.
I think that probably every person here has asked for those type of suggestions/changes in conversations and they get no traction. A politician asking for those things gets the same response. I am pretty sure Ted Cruz has done this, but I would need to research.

A bit. OTOH, it doesn't matter to a degree. Coming to the table with ONLY "no" as an answer is a great way to give them the kind of PR they want. It doesn't allow for discussion about anything other than the stupid "video game" argument that's been thrown out there. Addressing education, value of human life, etc... in schools would at least be a start and put them in a more difficult situation for arguments' sake.Q: how much opposition research have you done to understand what they’re willing to concede in order to get what they want.

Citizens fighting back together will stop the train but reality is that ain't gonna happen. Read the book of Revelation, it will not end well for non-believers. The left speaks of evolution but again they are wrong. What we are seeing is devolution. There was a begining and there will be an ending and much to the dismay of the left, it will have 0 to do with climate change, straws, or cows.Stockpiling does not equal prepared. My point is and has been that individuals alone aren’t gonna stop the train.
So you are advocating to just sit around and wait for the end of days?Citizens fighting back together will stop the train but reality is that ain't gonna happen. The sad truth is the Republic was lost probably when BHO first got elected. Most Americans are like the frog in the cooking pot - this don't feel so bad. Yeah, the water ain't boiling yet. Are you prepared for that Rhino? It is gonna get much worse. Pray for your kids and grandkids.

It's cultural, r3l1g1ous (not trying to start a discussion), and education related... but the politicians are afraid to say it. They'll call it "mental health" and that's it. They know it isn't the guns' fault, but they don't have the courage to get to the root issues. And yet, AR-15s, and 30 rd mags were readily available.
What has happened in the last 15 years?
It isn't that politicians are afraid to say it. It was the politicians that coined the phrase "gun violence", when everything else is just violence (except maybe the U.K. where they are now using the term "knife violence"). If you hear a politician using the term "gun violence", democrat or republican, they are setting the stage for "guns are evil" and shouldn't be in the hands of good people. Why would they then make a case for "it's not the guns fault"?It's cultural, r3l1g1ous (not trying to start a discussion), and education related... but the politicians are afraid to say it. Au contrare, mon frere. Until you what concessions they’re willing to make, there is no point in negotiating.
Tell me just one equivalent concession to a constitutional right that the enemy is willing to put on the table.
They clamor for compromise, when in reality it’s acquiescence they want.
In short, they are trying to be a bully. Yet they lecture bullying is bad.
An infringement of our rights? That’s a thing.
Name one thing we've gotten out of the NFA and GCA? Just ONE THING.
... At no other time has politics been so divided...
I believe you're wrong. At no other time has politics been so divided, and the right is losing ground. As I stated before, I don't think that it will happen in the immediate future, but as soon as the left takes over there are going to be radical changes, and not for the good. More than half of this country is against socialism, yet it's gaining ground, and I don't think many that are against it will just let it happen.
