With Johnson in the mix, Trump loses to HRC. Just like Ross Perot helped Bill Clinton win in 1992. I don't like Trump. But I'll hold my nose and vote for him. I really care about my 2nd Amendment rights.

I'm done with Cruz. I've lost a lot of respect for him this week. The show he put on was for 2020. It apparent to me now he only cares about himself.

The Dems get their shit together when elections come around. The Conservatives, they just bitch, cry and moan about their guy not making it. Then they take their ball and go home like a bunch of babies. Conservative need to grow up.
I agree there's a risk of Johnson pulling votes from Trump and handing an election to HRC; however, I feel it more likely that Johnson will pull votes away from HRC and wind up handing the election to Trump. Spoilers can work either way, and there are Dems out there who are absolutely saying to themselves, "I can't stand the stench of HRC, but I really don't want to cross over to Trump, so I'm voting for Johnson." Na'mean?

    ed308,

GET REAL. = IF there was 10 other candidates in the race, "Her Imperial THIGHness" couldn't win in Texas. = PERIOD. END OF STORY.

You could vote for MICKEY MOUSE & it wouldn't change the TX Electoral College votes this time.= HRC may get as much as 35% of the TX popular vote & maybe less.

Fully HALF of the TX DEMs hate her guts & wanted her indicted/tried/convicted/locked-up.

PREDICTION: HRC will win no more States than CA, New England, NY, OR & WA, the way it's looking as of 22JUL16.

    yours, satx

Man they could throw Reagan himself back in there and some still would find something to complain about and give a reason not to vote for him.

I think you underestimate how many more left leaning people are going to ride the Johnson. Half of my liberal facebook friends that I climb with are going Johnson. Electoral college will probably save Trump anyway. If you are in a heavy red state (like this one) you are perfectly safe voting for Johnson anyway. Seriously though you have no idea how pissed most liberals are at Hillary, especially considering Bernie probably won the primary without the voter fraud in probably 10 states. They hate Trump too but a ton of them won't even hold their nose and vote for the cankles queen.

don't piss on the people that you are going to eventually ask for support.

    The irony in that statement...

I don't blame Cruz for not endorsing Trump, I sure as hell wouldn't support someone who attacked my family. That's called having a spine. Cruz got more respect from be by NOT endorsing the blowhard. Trump is a twofaced liar, a complete asshole, and is far from being a true conservative, and his past proves that.

How dare we not vote for someone who passed the machine gun ban of 1986 and banned "armor piercing" handgun rounds, and banned armor piercing rounds of any kind from being made for the civilian market. People seem to forget about that little fact. I'd say that's a pretty damn good reason to complain, wouldn't you?

And I thought politicians were supposed to serve the people they represent and not have a spine and cry and kick there feet because they lost. The people chose Trump. The Congressmen that the people put in office should stand up for what the people want.

My thoughts on this whole issue and those who say they are going to vote for "minor candidates". Not voting counts like two votes for her. Effectively Trump not getting that vote counts as one and then the vote for hillary is of course a plus sign. Voting for any of the other candidates is essentially the same thing with one added problem, it in some cases sadly gives the illusion that other parties can win in what has become a locked in two party system. Be certain that voting for Hillary is not just a vote against the 2nd Amendment. It is a vote to weaken the 1st Amendment. It is a vote to increase taxes and to increase Federal spending to levels that will collapse the USA economy and perhaps the world economy. A vote for Hillary is a vote to allow the UN to gain not only a voice in running the USA but in worse case actual legal power in that level of legislative function.

I am not a Trump fan, but I am much more a fan of what our country was based on and the freedoms all too many Americans now take for granted. Not just for granted, but they do not even understand how or why they have those freedoms. Please vote in November, vote not only your conscience, but vote for what will keep America from becoming the next great Socialist despot run country.

I voted for Cruz when he first ran. I'd say he's representing me pretty damn well.

And no, the people don't "choose" Trump. Hell, most of the people in this thread seem to be voting for him solely out of fear for Hillary. I wouldn't call that choosing him. What it is is a sign of how far down the shitter this country has gone. We're stuck in a constant shitstorm of voting between evil and evil lite, and I refuse to be apart of that. The two party system has brought this country to it's knees, and hasn't given us a good Conservative nomination in several decades. And no, that's not me being picky. That's me opening my eyes and seeing things for what they really are. Like the Regan thing. People are so quick to praise him as a Conservative god, yet they forget he signed the single most blatant infringement on the 2nd Amendment in history into law. The outright ban of any machine guns made after 1986.

To put it Franky, you can forget about getting my vote until you Republicans nominate a decent conservative/libertarian for once. A third or more of this country identifies as independent like me, and your going to have to do better than Trump to get our votes. Maybe Trump will win, maybe he won't. The good news for you is that he's running against the only person in the world he has a chance in hell of beating. Either way, America is going to continue to spiral downwards.

So Trump did not get the popular republican vote ? Seems strange as he is the chosen nominee. You and this state may not have have chosen him but the country as a whole did.

Hillery thanks you for helping her win.

If there is ever going to be an opportunity to VOTE OUT the incompetent corrupt Dem and Rep parties NOW is that time. I can't think of any other time which both the Rep and Dem candidate were hated so much by so many, both by supporters of the opposing party AND by their own.

If we only have the courage to seize this moment to elect a Third Party POTUS we could MAYBE change the downspiraling fall of our country. If we could all believe just for this one fleeting moment that we can TAKE BACK our power to kick out the dirty filthy corrupt bastards who have stolen our country, destroy our Constitutional freedoms and bleed-out our economy, then maybe... just MAYBE we can win THIS TIME.

I agree this time a third party vote is less likely to swing the election one way or the other for Dem or Rep because BOTH candidates are hated so deeply by so many of their own parties. And I'll add, for the very same reason, it makes it POSSIBLE to vote them BOTH OUT by voting LIBERTARIAN. NOW is the time... perhaps our ONLY time.

We need to break FREE of the brainwashing imposed on us all by both the Dem and Rep parties and by the Big Corporate (politically motivated) Media. They tell us it's impossible to elect a Third Party POTUS. REALLY?? That's a damned lie told to us by those who want to remain CONTROLLING us. Damn them for using us like this!! Are we to let them win yet AGAIN??

I'm taking control of my vote this time. By God... the Dems and Reps are NOT stealing MY vote THIS time!!

    I'm voting LIBERTARIAN.

The thought of Clinton in the White House makes me ill. If this happens not only are we screwed, but our children and probably grand children are screwed as well.

If it was just Clinton in the White House with the same constraints Obama has had for the most of his terms (Republican House and Senate and a somewhat right leaning SCOTUS) I wouldn't worry as much. But there is no guarantee Republicans can hold the majority in congress, and we know for sure there will be at least two, maybe three SCOTUS appointments. Although there will be fights to confirm Clinton's leftist SCOTUS appointments, eventually they will get in. There will be zero balance of powers. Think it's bad now with Obama's abuse of power?... hang onto your hat.

    So, I will vote Trump.
