Why would there be Catholic Priests in public schools?
That's a strange way to look at things.
Why are children getting sexually abused by teachers, seems like the logical take away. You are quite the independent thinker!

It’s also a very lacking statistic given that it offers no per capita numbers for abuse.
Any sexual abuse is bad, but the phrasing you used lacks any real info in to the scope of the problem, assuming it’s accurate.

Good point. A small percentage of children will ever be in contact with a priest while the vast majority of children are in public schools. I wonder why the majority of public school sexual abuse cases go unreported?
Children are 200 times more likely to be sexually abused by Teachers in public schools than Catholic Priests!

Well, at least I got it Cam.That's a strange way to look at things.

Thread officially derailed.
Considering funding of institutions where child abuse is rampant should be part of the discussion IMO.

I feel sexual abuse in public schools is something that needs to be addressed.
You may see it as no big deal and only deserving a "little checking".
The most recent study was done in 2004.
Define “rampant”. You still haven’t given a statistic or link to how often abuse actually occurs.

What am I missing, if it's unreported, how do you know it's happening?
I never said it shouldn’t be. Nor did I say it needed only “a little checking”.
I said we should actually know the scope of the issue and not jump on a statistic of “20 times more likely” with no context. It’s a meaningless statistic on its own.

What numbers did you see after your 'little checking'?
I'm not sure I was put on this earth to be your Oracle. Google it.
Check it out for yourself and let me know what you come up with. Come back and tell me it's no big deal.
So after your research you couldn't find the number of children sexually abused in public schools? Really.Nothing to give any actual context.
What I found was even less helpful since you made no effort to site the source of your random number.

I stand by my question.
If it's NOT reported, how do you know it's happening?
YOU are the one who stated it's not reported.
