Today I tried Luling bc of this thread. I'd say top 2 in Houston along with Killens. Papas and goodie I'd pass. Except I really do like goodies pecan pie. Rudy's isn't bad.

Dickeys BBQ pit is chain but decent
B&W meat company is a excellent meat market but kinda pricey

I tried BBQ Godfather today off Rayford. It was excellent. Not as good as Corkscrew IMO, but they don't have nearly the line and they carry BURNT ENDS!!!!

Seems to me like people outside of the Houston area are a higher degree of BBQ connoisseur. Goode Co is "run of the mill" at best, and Pappas is overpriced, inconsistent, chain store, not fit for even the homeless, garbage.

This. Although I notice not all Papas are equal. The one in the hood off Bissonet is fairly decent. The one in the Woodlands should be closed immediately. Goode Co isn't as good as Rudy's IMO. I still want to try Killens and a few other spots around town.

Spreadsheet entry = argumentative leaning towards insubordination (needs to be put in his place, NOW!!!)

LOL, gotta keep an eye on Dan.....

Yep, heading over there this Friday, thanks for all the suggestions. Once I figure out my route and where I am staying I will figure it out and report back with what I tried and what I thought. Thanks!

Gatlin's is closed at the moment. He is partnered up at Jackson Street BBQ by Minute Maid Park.
