She flew it right in to the top of a tree today, and the tallest one in the immediate area
I'll admit I'm a terrible teacher, but I managed to not get too terribly worked up and we got it out. It did loose a small amount of tail fin that broke off right at the top but I doubt it will effect it's flying.
Keeping up with controls, direction of flight, and what's ahead of her is still a bit much. I should took control sooner but I try not to be to quick about taking over so she can learn from her mistakes.
You just keep butting out as much as possible (on taking over the controls) and she will learn faster. Once she can fly, we will get you a participation award .. and a Happy Meal .. with a shake.
I can't find a color photo of the Dallas Doll, but it seems many of the planes of that squadron had the yellow checkered nose. Looks like the yellow rudder was just artistic license by HH.
I like it, a lot! Gives the frame some much needed contrast. I used acrylic paint cuz the lady at Hobby Lobby said I could easily scrape it off if I didn't like it. Wish I had used permanent marker like I originally thought of.
Will try to post a pic tomorrow, I can't light it well enough at night.
