I intentionally avoid NFA items because I know what would happen. I would have a can on every rifle I own and every handgun that is threaded.

She flew it right in to the top of a tree today, and the tallest one in the immediate area

I'll admit I'm a terrible teacher, but I managed to not get too terribly worked up and we got it out. It did loose a small amount of tail fin that broke off right at the top but I doubt it will effect it's flying.

Keeping up with controls, direction of flight, and what's ahead of her is still a bit much. I should took control sooner but I try not to be to quick about taking over so she can learn from her mistakes.

Not worth climbing the tree over though.....

You just keep butting out as much as possible (on taking over the controls) and she will learn faster. Once she can fly, we will get you a participation award .. and a Happy Meal .. with a shake.

Thinking back on some of the (legal) BS thrown at me, participation was meant only as a joke. I did not mean to offend in any way.

The Mustang is a top 5 favorite of mine but HH botched the paint IMO. I've never seen a checkered cowl and bright tail.

Shortly after I got home yesterday the humidity plummeted and temp was nice so I wanted to fly. ALL my batteries were at the boss' with the truck

    I'm not leaving planes.

I can't find a color photo of the Dallas Doll, but it seems many of the planes of that squadron had the yellow checkered nose. Looks like the yellow rudder was just artistic license by HH.

Easy fix with some silver or black paint.

I like it, a lot! Gives the frame some much needed contrast. I used acrylic paint cuz the lady at Hobby Lobby said I could easily scrape it off if I didn't like it. Wish I had used permanent marker like I originally thought of.

Will try to post a pic tomorrow, I can't light it well enough at night.

Little bit windy today but figured I'd give the Trojan a run anyways.

Was coming in looking for a good landing direction between trees and wind when a gust turned it on its side and nearly put it in to a fence.

Decided it was time to land and call it a day.
