We should start demanding studies from them to back their claims. Peer-reviewed and properly conducted, of course... Not like the BS "studies" they used to build their case for the smoking ban.
Be careful what you wish for. I'd wager there are already a dozen studies backing their claims (and probably two or three dozen refuting them).
Peer review does more harm than good when you cherry-pick what info the public knows about it. Remember the study saying violent video games are catalysts for Columbine-style violence? It got SKEWERED in peer reviews, yet outside of a few up-to-date psychologists, no-one heard about that part. All they heard was that a peer-reviewed study proves Doom caused Columbine.
