What's the barrel length? Is it picky about ammo?

5 inch barrel. It will shoot mini-mags and stingers all day with no problem. She tends to start to have problems on cheap bulk .22 when dirty. I figure it works good for misfire drills. It will not cycle cci quiets.

I will get a picture in a bit of my favorite .22 to shoot with the can. It is a marlin xt-22rz. Factory threaded (too long for sparrow, requires spacer or adaptor) Takes marlin 795 mags. Not that I have tried, but with cci quiets it is truly back yard quiet. Also been on sale at buds for like $160. For a cheap .22 it is very accurate. Not 10 ring at 100 but deffenatly clay pigeon bits at 25.

It is the short barrel that keeps the round quiet. I am interested how a 22/45 would sound compared with a 22 pistol with a regular slide.

Not necessarily. Theres a definite difference in sound from various ammo even though its all subsonic. For example cci standard velocity is noticeably more quiet than federal bulk pack. Both are subsonic out of a 4.5" barrel. The 22/45 is more quiet due to only the bolt cycling rather than an entire slide riding on the frame rails.

In my opinion the 22/45 lite with some choice mods is the pinnacle of the 22 pistol host world. Add some volquartsen goodies and a mark 2 bushing gets you a really accurate gun with a ridiculously great trigger.

Just the weight and the barrel comes factory threaded on all models. No sense in having a heavier gun that accomplishes the same task IMO.
