I came real close to buying an AC556 years ago. I loved that gun from the A-Team. I re watched the series. 750,000 rounds fired, and not a single hit.
My Mini 14 is a 6.8 spc. My biggest issue is there are no magazines available.Yuck. Not for me.
I like my Mini 14 ranch/target in 223 only. shoots great and I hit what I'm
shooting at.
I'd shoot it. It got me thinking, I've never shot a mini 14.
Big mags isn't a problem with the mini 14 6.8, ruger only sold 5 rounds magazines to the public. They made 20 round for LE.I traded off my 580 series for a '54 Tuls SKS and a 1K brick of X39 years ago, manly because I'm a Kali occupant and can't (supposedly) have big mags. PAX
Not in Idaho, I had a half dozen. For my RAR in X39 I have 10 ten rounders and 2 20s. They're mostly Promags that suck at feeding I got the 20's as part of a package deal as barter fodder. I was referring to RUGER magazines. I'll probably never purchase another ruger after the manner of support they provided for the 6.8 Ranch Rifle. Not in Idaho, I had a half dozen. I was referring to RUGER magazines. Those made by Promag were not reliable.
When I got interested in NFA stuff as an adult, the AC-556 was desirable because you could send a broken one to Ruger and they'd send a brand new AC-556 back! Unfortunately, while an earlier BATF ruling allowed the original manufacturer to replace a damaged receiver with a new one, they changed their mind. No idea what happened to the rest of the inventory!I own an AC-556F, which is the short barrel, full auto version of this rifle. When I first saw this I thought they were offering the full auto version again (for police/military qualified buyers). I was really excited because new parts no longer exist for my 1983 vintage machine gun. Unfortunately, I saw that it is semi-only.
1k is a lot better than the 1800 they were asking a few months agoAt $1000 I'd buy another M1a over the Ruger, I feel the Ranch rifle should start at about $750.
