I found it a bit disturbing how he refereed to the people operating and manning the vehicle as 'operators' and not as 'officers' or 'federal agents'.

Wonder the last time a mine went off in the US directed at any LE agency.

Makes you wonder why they are preparing for massive police action.

I can see MRAPs (the vehicle in question) being necessary (or at least semi-reasonable) if DHS starts working border security... In Afghanistan.

Seeing as that isn't likely, though, my money's going towards them prepping for a "police state" scenario. And this is coming from someone who usually laughs at the tinfoil crowd.

Yes it does make you wonder. They ARE preparing and I ain't a tinfoiler but it isn't hard to see that we are close to a economical collapse

Gonna take some brass balls to be the fuel tanker driver who tries to keep those beasts fed if it all goes south.

I really felt for them guys in Iraq, ESP when the tanks were nearly empty.

I've made this point to ALOT of people who say the military would be deployed and squash any rebellion.

Our military require a huge amount of supplies to keep moving and logistically it would be nearly impossible to keep supply line open with no front line.

Where is the check and balance?
Please tell me DHS is not immune to them.

TSA is part of DHS and they seem to think they're immune. Wouldn't be surprising if this attitude took root and spread through the rest of the agency. Creation of the DHS was the absolute worst decision George W Bush made during his time in office.
