FFL Registry: Gunsmoke LLC at Front Range Gun Club - Loveland, CO shows a type 01. Although they could be operating the gunsmith side of things with the FFL there under another name or even owner.

I guess it'd have been nice to explain to Joe public that the shotgun was a registered SBS.

You really think so, Sage? I've carried shotgun shells through multiple duck seasons, loose in a .50cal ammo can in a flat-bottom aluminum boat, beat to hell and back by the chop of rough water and rough dirt/gravel roads (boat on trailer), and never had an issue. I'd think that under tension in a shotgun would be a much softer ride.
