    Maybe it's just me, but it seems like a common-sense sort of thing to take a closer look, or at least another look, especially if you see something that you aren't expecting to see (in this case, someone lugging a rifle around on school property).

    That would hold true for things other than, you know, a potential active shooter. Plus being that it is Massachusetts, and MIT, I am confident that no one was carrying a firearm. I, personally, wouldn't investigate a potential active shooter situation in the name of "curiosity". I have a feeling that the old adage, "Curiosity killed the cat," would hold true in this worst-case possible scenario. In this case, it would be the "Doc Roe" though.
