Ranchers and farmers claim hogs are such a problem in Texas. Open their gates to hunters and we will kill every hog within a week...

no you won't either, not even close
you can't hunt them out of existance, or trap them out of existance
there is already no limit, no closed season and no restrictions on how to kill them

There is a new program out just recently using food laced with sodium nitrate and a smart feeder that only opens to present feed to hogs using microphones and a cpu that is programed to recognize hog sounds

the sodium nitrate prevents the blood cells from collecting O2 and the animal dies with no secondary posioning
once this posion and these smart feeders get deployed the hogs will start to decline

Every land owner except all the land owners making a killing off hunters and every land owner who has no interest in all the BS that comes along with any government sponsored program.

You can get your tank stocked for free in Texas with great fish, doesn't cost a dime. Just gotta let the government in. Not many take the offer.

You can get the cedar cleared from your property by the state as well. Lots of cedar trees covering acres of land.

Why would landowners making thousands of dollars hosting hog hunts want to eradicate them?

There are plenty of hogs on the big pharm to hunt. I don't see what the problem is.

I have two elderly buddies who trap hogs for resale. They have no problem getting onto other peoples property to do it. Matter of fact they get more offer then they have traps. Y'all want free pork, buy or build some traps! Then start offering your services.

If I allow you onto my property and you get hurt, I am partially liable for your injury. A good lawyer can make me totally responsible for your injury! Yes, that fallen tree should have been cut up and removed.

If I post my property, refuse entry, tell you to stay off my land and you trespass, it's on you.

I'd like to be a nice guy, but it's a terrible liability risk to do that.
