Rusty my friend i see where you carry!! A < 3in soo a full size is waaaaay out!! To much room it might slip out
    Bwhaaaaaaa

Rofl, I change it up on carry location nowadays. I wouldn't do my 12-1 O'clock carry with a 1911 though.

    I'll admit it. I'm a Glock fanboy. I like 1911s too.

Would I carry a 1911? Yup. Would it be often? Nope. Why would I carry it? To know that I'm carrying a cool gun.

With that being said, I don't carry my gun to be that cool guy.

The 1911 isn't the only gun that comes in .45acp for the record. I'll still choose to carry my G19 over a 1911 in 9mm.

With that being said, I'd probably rather have a 1911 in .45acp than a Glock in .45acp.

I don't carry 9mm to make sure people think I'm manly. But now the true reasoning behind carrying a 1911 is finally rearing it's head: to be a manly man. lol

I don't carry a .45 to be manly - I do it 'cuz ah'm too cheap ta shoot 'em twice with a 9mm.

If I still had my .44 mag I'd get a shoulder holster and carry that. Man I love .44 mag. I'd carry it because I'm to cheap to shoot em once with a .45, and with a .44 you don't have to shoot em. Just the sound of the gun being drawn from the holster scares em off.

That's what it is just going to come down to, and I have no issues with that.

Carry what you want, I don't care lol.

But you'll never convince me that the 1911 platform is better for self defense than a Glock or something similar. Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala.

Alex, you are making it too complicated. Young you don't get it. Everyone else reading - share the popcorn.

1911-shorts require more TLC because only the length of stroke was effectively shortened. The job function remained the same - we didn't shrink the .45 ACP cartridge. We didn't shrink the operational dimension of the magazine. We didn't shrink the operational dimensions of the chamber, extractor, firing controls.

Ahh but you're wrong there. Someone did shrink the .45ACP into a size that was more manageable for some. They now call it the 9mm.

9mm 1911 for carry? Obviously a Springfield EMP :p Seriously though, SA reconfigured the 1911 around the 9 and 40. Check it out, you'll be impressed.
