Now days Arizona seems to be ahead of Texas. WHY !!??? :banghead:
The Other new Arizona Law? | Texas GOP Vote
    The Other new Arizona Law…

    2nd%20amendment.jpg
With all the furor over the Arizona Illegal Immigration Enforcement Law recently passed, another new law in Arizona passed without much fanfare. Effective July 29th of this year, Arizona citizens will be allowed to carry a concealed weapon without a concealed carry permit.
The 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution guarantees the right of American citizens to "keep and bear arms". The new Arizona law re-affirms the right of Americans in Arizona to defend themselves with a concealed weapon. Arizona will continue to issue Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) licenses to qualified citizens. One might ask why someone would want a Arizona CCW license when they are allowed to concealed carry without a license. There are two good reasons for this. First would be for travel purposes. The Arizona CCW license has reciprocity with 32 other states. This affords Arizona citizens the ability to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights without question in these other states. Additionally, by having a AZ CCW license, citizens can forgo the NICS background check when purchasing new firearms as their background has already been thoroughly checked. The training for an Arizona CCW is also a good idea to make certain the citizen is familiar with applicable Arizona laws regarding the use of deadly force and prohibited places of carry.
Arizona joins Alaska and Vermont in passing "Constitutional Carry" laws which allow its citizens to carry a firearm open carry or concealed, with our without a license.
Should Texas follow the lead of these other states by passing its own "Constitutional Carry" law? At the Republican Party of Texas Convention in Dallas earlier this month, I asked that question to Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson. He said he would support this kind of legislation in Texas. While serving as a Texas State Senator, Jerry Patterson sponsored the legislation that brought Concealed Carry rights to Texans. Patterson also supports open carry in Texas asking, "Is an openly carried gun more dangerous than a concealed one? I don't think so.”
The upcoming legislature of Texas will face many new challenges. Many people will be asking Texas to follow the lead of Arizona in regards to immigration enforcement. I hope Texas will follow the lead of Arizona on this issue as well.
    What say you?

Waste of time and resources. We are a lifeboat tied to a sinking Titanic. Time to support those who are willing to sever that cord and get Texas safely away from the Marxists that now rule so much of the once-proud USA.

Well... that's a utopian view if I ever saw one. Texas will never secede from the union. In fact, it's not even a legal possibility in spite of what many in Texas believe.

It sounds good. In fact it sounds damn good.

    It ain't happening.

    Texas!
Can we secede from the Union.....yes.

Do we have the right to do so at any time? No, not since the civil war.

Should we secede? No, we should overthrow the a**hats in DC who have distorted and outright ignored the Constitution, and take us back to the Sovereignty of the States, Our FIRST attempt is in November.

Just so no one is confused about my position here.... Arizona, despite what the majority calls it, DOES NOT have an Illegal Immigration Enforcement Law. What they have is an Illegal ALIEN Enforcement Law.

Sorry to stray off the intended topic....

My only point there was that we have no more (or less) right to secede than any other state. I've always heard from other Texans that we had some specific clause in the Texas constitution to do so, but it's not actually there.

First, we CAN secede. The Supreme Court left that open. It takes agreement by the other states to let us go. Frankly, the Marxists would be happy to get rid of us. They can pick up Puerto Rico to keep the 50 stars in the flag.

Second, it's far, far too late to throw out the s***heads in D.C. The damage they've done is beyond repair. Besides that, those @$$clowns are NOT the real problem. The real problem is all those millions of idiots that think socialism is the very best thing for the USA to adopt. The Left Coast, the NE Corridor, and the old Rust Belt areas like Detroit and Cleveland will vote in Obama's Marxists time after time. The worse things get, the more they think the government is the only solution. Look at the Bush/Gore election; the major metro areas were carried by Gore (except in the South). They control large numbers of congressmen and in some states they control the election of senators. (I've traveled through Mass. and all of the cars in the western part of the state had anti-Ted Kennedy bumper stickers. Their votes didn't matter because Kennedy controlled the Boston vote.)

Third, the new regulations coming out of the Obama Administration will soon destroy the economy of Texas. We're already seeing the effects of his immigration policy and the offshore drilling ban. The so-called Greenhouse Gas regulations will shut down most of our industry. You may have seen the battle between EPA Region VI and the TCEQ in the newspaper in the last few months. EPA wants to take over air pollution permitting in Texas. What the greenhouse regs don't kill, EPA will. When the Texas economy is destroyed, we will be forced to submit to the will of the Marxists.

And, finally, NOT ONE of the Republicans in D.C. has taken any sort of stand that makes them worthy of election. So the 'Tea Party' folks have pushed some new conservatives out, but THEY DON'T HAVE ANY POSITIVE AGENDA EITHER. Notoriously, look at Scott Brown. Big 'Tea Party' upset! First vote he makes in Congress is to vote in favor of an Obama bill.

The USA as we knew it is DEAD. Khrushchev would have been amazed that the Soviets didn't have to use force. The country committed suicide by greed.

I think yall are full of shit!! I really dont care about Secession.
I like to think as big as the Texas Sky!!!
Instead of Seceding, my goal would be to correct the entire nation and restore it to the Standard Our Founding Fathers Established..
Texas is the best place for me to be but I also enjoy other American states as well. I dont want to give up on them. I want the Shit to Hit the Fan if thats whats necessary to take back our country!!
Secession isnt the way to restore our country! Fighting is!!

Arizona has always been ahead of Texas. Arizona has always had permitless open carry. Also NM, CA, NV, VA, MI, and a whole host of other states. Yes, California has always had permitless open carry. It became illegal to carry loaded in the late 60s, but it has always been there.

Born in Waco and raised in Houston. Always a proud Texan. But see things the way they are. My statement is the truth. Texas has not had OC since about 1879 or 1880.

Art.I, Sec.23 of the Texas State Constitution was adopted in 1868 a during the reconstruction era. The law that banned OC or actually carry in general was passed and signed in 1879 or 1880, IIRC. This was done to prevent freedmen from carrying, but applied to everyone. Initially it was only enforced against freedmen. The citizens of Texas actually voted this garbage in.

Every citizen shall have the right to keep and bear arms in the lawful defense of himself or the State; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms, with a view to prevent crime.

Arizona is also mostly rural and has about 5% of the economy that Texas has. They might as well be two different countries. Comparing what one does versus the other isn't really a very valid argument. California... well, it's California.
