[TEXAS "All or nothing"]

7.62x39 has been in metric (.311/.312) and imperial (.308), but has been dependent on which platform (AR vs AK). At 1 time I've seen the 7.62x39 in .308 with matching brass. Does all AK mag work with all AK's regardless of country of origin?

On another note does anyone have a milled receiver vs stamped?

They should, but when you're dealing with drunk commie slave labor, don't be surprised if you need to fit a magazine to your gun.

All 7.62x39 mags should work in any 7.62x39 ak.

I prefer stamped receivers

Reasoning on why you prefer stamped? From vids I've seen they've either failed due to it being stamped or timing being off causing cracks.

The gun will be lighter and balance better.


If you're concerned with it being able to survive getting run over by an armored car, then get milled

They won't work in an unconvered Saiga rifle, but all others are usually interchangeable. Some magwells on some imported rifles that were converted in the US may have loose tolerances like early WASR 10's, but I have yet to see one myself out of dozens of WASR rifles. New ones are better in that regard.

I also prefer stamped recievers to milled, just for the weight savings.

I have a stamped and installed recoil buffers from Buffer Technologies.
I have put a few hundred rounds threw it with no problems.

Yes but no. You'll need an adjustable gas piston from kns

Seams that AK's run better than the AR versions because of mags? Seems like more the curve of the mag enhances the feeding on AK's even though the grendel is closer on design?

Same difference as I didn't state DI blocks. Just wasn't sure if there was and agp for them? Kinda like for the m14/m21's from Schuster?

The ak is also stupidly overgassed. Ak mags are a great design, but are heavy

I am not familiar with those, so I can't say, but the KNS piston works very well, but is really only needed if you plan on suppressing the gun

A while back ruger mini 30's had a .308 bore diameter.

As for shooting .308 in a .311, you'll be fine. Its an ak. You're looking at the wrong gun for sub MOA

Probably Ruger did 1 barrel for the mini30 and just chambered accordingly.
