Obama is setting himself up to be nominated Secretary-General of the United Nations so he can continue his social re-engineering on a much grander scale. He needs to be seen as the champion of the oppressed people of the world to get elected to that position. Only the world stage can satisfy Obama's need for glory.

I think this is underestimated. To a socialist, the US doesn't have that much honor or glory to it. They are loyal to the revolution, not to nations, or at least the real international socialists are.

I'm wondering what the big deal is about chemical weapons. Dead is dead, whether by nukes, bare fists or something in between. Let the Syrians kill each other off.

I think it's because chemical weapons, especially used around civilian populations, produce huge numbers of civilian casualties. So did our firebombing of Dresden but hey, that was us, not them.

Regarding the Japanese pass for their WW2 atrocities, I don't know if that's because we are so Euro-centric or what. I think the Chinese and Koreans remember quite well how brutal the Japanese were.

It's simple. The Unconditional Surrender by the Japanese that the we have been taught was a lie. It was a lie then when the powers that be put it out and it's still a lie now. There were conditions attached to the surrender and some of that was included.

You can't have an unconditional surrender with conditions, but that is what they wanted the public to believe and what they got them to believe all these years.

Just think about why the mum was ground off on some jap rifles. That was a condition of surrender tied to keeping of the emperor in power. Even in the face of evidence to the contrary, many will swear it was unconditional. SMH

Remember that we strongly prosecuted the folks that ordered and participated in the Malmedy massacre and other Nazi war crimes, but not the killing of POWs on Wake island, Palawan Massacre and other places by the Japanese. Those responsible got fluff trials and light sentences if anything.

The US had big plans for Japan and wanted to tread lightly and not punish them very severely, keeping the population and govt. from resisting and starting a guerrilla war against our occupation. Gotta also remember we basically got Japan all to ourselves, did not have to share with the Russians, French, and a lesser extent the British and Aussies. It was destined to become one of the cornerstones of our policy in the Pacific. We seem to have had a policy of forgiving and forgetting the many cases they were more brutal (committing 'crimes against humanity') than the Germans to accomplish this.

Saddam actually did have WMD's but they never found them (or they did but never told anyone) and the North Vietnamese definitely attacked American Navy ships, so when Obama accuses Assad of using chemical weapons, it's definitely true. I mean, the American government has never lied to us. That's how they are connected.

watched a nice video on now the chinese view our pos...potus......they have no respect for him because he is looked upon as a traitor to his nation.the more I tnought about it the more global policies make sense......putin and the chinese premier both are avowed commies that pledge their unwavering allegience to their own people and nation where as this sumbitch we have posed as an amerikan and has shown not to have any allegiance to our nation but rather a sold out traitor to the highest bidder of favor his moozleem brudah hoods......so now putin....played this azz hat clown on the global stage and is now a limped weiner prez......or lame duck as the pols say......to keep my humor I have this mental image of mahoney and satch and the rest of the bowery boys....they look smarter then these clowns.......they may be progressive commies that are really good at stirring up chit from the sidelines but when driving they are totally clownish.......
