Flash... That's where I'm going with this. Swap an upper and lets roll. Do you know if the PMAGS will give me trouble? That's all I run. Trying to stream line my stock pile.I read the posts and have a suggestion:
The .458 Socom is the upper assembly for an AR-15. There are no modifications needed in the lower assembly or to the magazine. Some grind a radius on the forward end of the magazine claiming that it feeds better. I have never modified a magazine nor do I know anyone who has. Use standard, metal AR magazines.
In short...………….. why sweat the cost of a .458 Socom? Assemble an upper assembly in .458 Socom, push two pins and you have a shoulder cannon. When you're done hunting or shooting, push two pins and change the rifle back to a 5.56 or .300 BLK.
That was the whole purpose of the .458 Socom….easy change over for operations where they had to drop sentries in their tracks. Socom= Special Operations Command. The suppressed versions of the .458 are quiet, accurate and very lethal.

Errr… yeah that's just nasty. Luckily I don't have an AR10So much want... I had an RRA 458 socom bought at one time, but got it pulled out from under me.
If you really want to blow up hogs, look up 45 raptor. (I know, I'm just evil)
Go ahead, build it... you know you want to...Errr… yeah that's just nasty. Luckily I don't have an AR10
Ok thanks guys. I'll look into it some more... I told the wife I had everything I needed. Hmmm.... white lie?
This is what interests me in this round. I've been toying with the idea for three or four years. Just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on a gun I would not shoot often.
But I want one....
What a brut! I bet the steel rings loud!Got it out yesterday. Had feeding issues. Will work that out. But the Bear Creek Arsenal upper shot great.
What a fun gun.....
