A phone on the eye piece of a manually guided Dob? I think it is an outstanding image! Here's a crappy shot with a 10" dobsonian. Chasing with the Telrad finder with iphone on eyepiece adaptor. It's a chase with ISS going in and out of view. Maybe get 15 images out of 100 shots and they aren't real great but you can tell what it is. Image is blown up from original.

Thanks. I'm gonna try it with my Nikon500 attached to the lens so that I can control shutter speed and maybe get a more clear photo. I use a remote shutter release with the iphone, but no speed control.A phone on the eye piece of a manually guided Dob? I think it is an outstanding image!
I have a Meade LX200 gps and also a star tracker that I use with my Nikons, but id don't think that either one has a mode to track fast moving satellites, but one of the things on my photographic bucket list is capturing the transit of the ISS across the moons disc.Thanks. I had one and slowly my neighbors started adding security lights.I would love to have a telescope. I'm fascinated by the universe
Of courseI had one and slowly my neighbors started adding security lights.
A telescope is my primary source of enjoyment. You can get one pretty cheap these days (relatively speaking). I've been through alot of them and my favorite is a 10" dobsonian. Here's a photo of the one I use. I like viewing deep sky objects like galaxies, nebulae, globular star clusters, etc. A few days ago I looked at a quasar that is 2.5 billion lightyears away.I would love to have a telescope. That's awesome, I had a nice inexpensive Celestron with computerizated controller. I could attach a Nikon camera which linked to a tablet. Had some nice pictures of Saturn and Jupiter with it's moons. Lost all my pictures when our computer died. It was a fun hobby. I've been watching early morning, like around 5am. Another good one this morning, clear sky and it practically flew over my house. If it's directly overhead it's lasts about 5 minutes.Hmmmm I wonder what time it may have flown over North Texas last night?
Wife and I were in the pool at a bright object flew over just before dark. It stayed in view of a good 5 minutes.
